Another thing probably annihilating the anime may have been the format change with GT to a set of shorter 10-15min episodes that aired online instead of full sized 20-25min televised episodes. No way you can properly tell a story like that. At least the anime was pretty consistent vs. the manga despite some character changes. It's not like the original Bakuten Shoot Beyblade manga vs. Bakuten Shoot Beyblade/Beyblade 2002/Beyblade G Revolution anime, where the manga was literally completely different. (I also hear that the Metal Fight Beyblade manga was completely different from the Metal Fight/Metal Fight Explosion/4D/ZERO-G anime)

I agree, they should remake gen 1 Beyblade for a film in Japan, and like you said, since gen 1 came out in 2001, most beyblade fans are most likely nastolgic to see Tyson/Takao and Kai.
