VTubing is a subculture that is dominated by weeaboos, therefore it's perfectly warranted for anime-styled models to be the go to choice. Obviously there's nothing wrong with being more creative with your design choices, but the "fans" who insist on it are basically complaining that there are too many military officers in a Call Of Duty game.

Vtubing and anime have a shared heritage: They both come from Japan. Even the most uneducated of tourists should know this. Most vtubers use an anime art style. Many vtuber models and lore are directly inspired by anime. To attack one almost universally means that you are attacking the other. I've never seen her streams before, but I like what Pumpkin is doing. She's being unique and original, both qualities that will take her far. It's a shame that she's become the poster child for this kind of behavior. Either way, it will all blow over when another cretin on Twitter finds another moronic reason to try to cancel vtubers.

Cant believe i have to say this but me and i assume most people dont watch vtubers because "horny". i usually run it at my second monitor so i'm not even looking at the screen. it's usually to relax and laugh. Sometimes they sing songs or play games. Also having a nice model helps but 99% of the reason some vtubers are huge are their PERSONALITY and CHARISMA. Some of the vtubers i watch are MALE

Speaking of a Twitter moment, I had just witnessed the downfall of a vtuber group on Twitter that had debuted recently this month but only lasted 7 days. The groups name was groupvstarlight, and their downfall was caused by a member of the group doxxing another vtuber during a donation chargeback dispute twice "accidentally" and it was even worse by one of there members trying to rationalize the act of doxxing itself and attacking people who dare say otherwise, the drama got so bad that the leader of groupvstarlight decided to leave completely due to the stress of the situation. the group had put out a statement that basically sounded like they were blaming the victim of doxxing instead, and so naturally, it was received very poorly and thus was the end of groupvstarlight.

Tbh, I dont think its botted. Many people have access to Twitter/X. There IS that amount of ignorant people. For awhile, I've noticed the way people attach themselves to broad drama, instead of something actually positive; for the human mind, its very easy, when you actually look into it. Soon, the internet will be more widely available with ideas the current president of the USA, wants, as well. --- Also, Vtubers can build a fanbase with out consistently streaming. Having the internet to stream, is a luxury, to be honest. Some people who have the drive to be a vtuber, cant immediately stream. So, they (like myself) slowly build a presence online until getting ghe right tech. How much a person is successful, widely relies on the person themself and their own idea of success. And saying there is only a few ways to success, is silly. Its true what you mentioned about charisma, Kuri. For people who truly have charisma; will always find a way to do something towards their idea of fun/goals.
