I once again transcribed Animenz's newest upload, the classic "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" from Neon Genesis Evangelion! As usual, I'm not the first one but here it is anyways :)

EDIT: There is one last reeeeaaly quiet chord that Animenz played that I completely missed in my transcription (video) and I have edited my sheets to accommodate for that. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I literally couldn't hear it.
EDIT 2: Now I'm just losing confidence in my accuracy, there's a copy paste error in m.62 of the transcription - that bar shouldn't even exist... (1:54 in the video)
I've fixed it on the sheets so if you've already downloaded it just mark it out :)

No program I know of can transcribe with this much accuracy. Even if it was a program, it would take a similar amount of effort going through the output for mistakes - if he could find the mistakes a program makes and correct them, then he'd be able to do the whole thing by hand. It's just a matter of time.

I've rewatched the show dozens of times but every time I become more and more reluctant to watch it again. Asuka is my favourite character but it hurts more and more every time I watch her fate in EoE or just the show in general. I love the show but it hurts to watch it knowing how it will end and seeing the characters spiral deeper into their own minds and push people further away. This hurt the most when asuka pushed shinji away for me(I'm a asuka x shinji shipper).

It feels very nihilistic and depressive how many characters in the series talk about "adults" and "maturity", which mostly was Misato, Ritsuko and Gendo, when all they did was to leave all the burden to the children. Surely they were pushed to a situation they could not do much but what about their mental health? It feels even more depressive in the new Evangelion movies where Shinji is even more force to accept all responsibility for everything when they do not even explain him what happened and take time to accept his new reality. I really want Gendo to suffer. Surely I was bit gleeful when Rei was like "nope" at the end of the first original movie but....is that really it? After all how it ends? Kaworu was the one that understood Shinji the most. Unfortunately....you know. I will say Rei is my favorite character...maybe? I cannot say Shinji is my favorite character but at the same time, "Shinji, get in the damn robot!", is just feels the forceful burden of Shinji to be some hero to save the world like that is the correct option. He only accepts because running away for him would hurt more and...well seeing Rei was about to be force to go ahead again at her state was very Gendo like move. This series for me was how we sacrifice the happiness and the sanity of the few for the rest of the world and how that even fails telling us in a depressive way, that the was the incorrect answer even though that was the only choice left. It was really hard to have a favorite character, especially the older cast. Heck in the new movies they become even more detestable for me. Eye-patch Asuka surely is great but could it have hurt her to tell Shinji the truth little by little bit? Sure! I get it! You are way older now and you are impatient for someone who was out all this time, but calling him immature because he has no idea what is happening and now if force to be like a criminal after he thought all he did was save his friend's life...is kind of demanding to take on. I get everybody had the look, "life is harsher now", but guess what? It was basically the burden of the original pilots, now you were experiencing a bit of how they felt all this time, and yet Risuko and Misato act like Shinji does not know how take responsibilities for his actions. And there is Gendo, Shinji's deadbeat dad....in the new movies I was like there is no way he could be more horrible than he already was but no.....he broke his limit and went to newer higher levels of worst dad. Seriously just when Shinji finds confidence and something to fight for, Evangelion movies are like, "Shinji..you know...this is Evangelion, right? You know what is our usual punch line? That is right, is you.". I am sorry I wanted to rant a bit. I am so hype for the fourth movie coming up, maybe next year or this one if I'm correct? But at the same time I am really disappointed in the older cast. Can they reach newer levels of disappointment? Will Shinji be able to break this sick cycle of abuse towards him? Will Rei be more emotional towards Asuka and Shinji? Will Asuka use more proper communication? Will the new girl...well do..whatever she is supposed to do? Who knows.

Excellent transcription once again man. I have a question, since I began to write my arrangements on musescore: how do you make the LH sound overall softer than the RH? Do you directly edit the midi? Is there a fonctionality for this on musescore or Sibelius?

I edit most of my velocities in Musescore (and do final touches and edits in MIDI directly), but Sibelius also has a function like this. In Musescore, when you select a note or a group of notes, in Inspector under the subheading "Notes", there should be a "Velocity type" and "Velocity" setting. By choosing Velocity type: Offset and setting Velocity to some negative value, the note is now quieter than what it would be under the setting of the default as noted in the dynamic markings. In addition, there is a setting under dynamic marks which allows it to be applied to just one hand (staff) as opposed to the default (part), also found under the respective inspector settings. (I won't bother to explain Sibelius as I assume you'll be using Musescore anyways)
