I find Gyutaro and Daki's relationship to be such a dark parallel to that of Tanjiro and our precious Nezuko. Both groups looked for a saviour and were products of their environment when in their darkest moment. Giyu and the Hashira representing the light when saving our protagonists, whilst Douma and Demon's representing the darkness when 'saving' Gyutaro and Ume. Tragic.

Agreed. My friend doesn’t like him, but I love him. He never asked to be a demon, but it was forced onto him. He lost his memories, but still kept Koyuki close to his heart. Some of his attacks have snow designs and names containing “Yuki” from Koyuki, which means “Snow” in Japanese.

Kokushibo and Akaza would be great friends Kokushibo carry's himself like a honorable samurai and Akaza has his own honor code of not killing women so I could see them getting along great.

When akaza and kokushibo battled and kokushibo won, he didn't absorb akaza instead let him live and tell him to work hard, become strong and again battle him. *Hakuji/Akaza didn't deserve any of that, he was a hard working, Kind hearted person. Who didn't care what would happen to him as long as he could protect his loved ones. He even held onto some of his humanity because he refused to Attack or kill Women or Children. He even didn't wanna fight or kill Rengoku Kyojuro, He offered to make him into a demon. Even when he wad fighting Giyuu and Tanjiro, he acknowledged their power and potential. And before he took his own life after seeing Koyuki. He gave Tanjiro a warm smile and refused to regenerate. And constantly was apologizing to Koyuki, Kaezo and his Father for the things he done. But Koyuki stayed by his side and so did his Family. He went out as an Honorable Soldier and was reincarnated as a wonderful student in Kimestu Academy.*

Akaza/Hakuji origin story is my favorite. Such a great story. He cared and had compassion for those he loved even after being dealt a bad hand in life. Most of his violent actions as a human were in defense of people he loved. Not going to lie I was balling 😭 when I read book 18. My favorite of the series, and I cannot wait for it to be animated.

Honestly, I love Akaza and Doma best of all the demons, but for different reasons. Akaza is tragic, interesting, with a beautiful and bittersweet ending. Doma is such a narcissist and an evil person, even as a human, but he's so down for putting on an act and being a complete ass-hat that I love to hate him. Both I enjoy exponentially for very different reasons. I can't wait until Doma is fully introduced into the anime and not just hinted at with. Also, a close third was definitely Gyutaro. His love and dedication to Daki is so sad and sweet, and I totally cried like a baby when Daki went to hell with him instead of going to the after life.

Douma is actually the only Upper Moon that could possible beat Kokushibou. Douma's ability to generate clones of himself, that are equal of his power allows him to multiply his strength into how many he'd want, and his Blood Demon Art is a huge counter to Kokushibou's Moon Breathing, thus, will force him to use other techniques himself.

Akaza and kokushibo are the real chads. Like, they only died cuz they had a code of honor and stuff. Even The combined efforts of giyuu,tanjiro,muichiro,sanemi genya, and gyomei, THE strongest hashira, weren't enough. Imagine what would've happened if akaza and kokushibo didn't kill themselves. Kokushibo could have still been the 2nd strongest demon ever and akaza could have even surpassed douma. i feel bad for kokushibo, he tried his best and worked his hardest but he just couldn’t beat yoriichi at anything he kept trying but eventually jealousy took over and he became a demon just to become stronger he well surpassed all the hashira and everyone else he kept trying to get stronger and after all that time he fought yoriichi and still lost he mustve felt like he was weak and couldn’t do anything about it, no matter how hard he trained or how many sacrifices he made his life was ruined and he lived 400 years of regret and anger

I’m an oddball but I feel bad for (child) Douma. He obviously had some early mental issues that were severely neglected when he was a kid. It was accentuated from cult members trauma dumping on him, and he grew up to become a monster. He became a demon because he had nothing, and was bored. Not a single person genuinely loved him & took care of him, and oddly enough the one person that might have, Inosuke’s mom, was the one person he refused to kill until he had to (even if he was indifferent to it). He even brutally murdered her abusive husband and mother in law in the taisho secrets and refused to eat them to “save them from suffering” like he does with other people. People forget the other part of his character when it comes to his indifference to life. Kokoshibo and Akaza are probably the saddest demons back story the fact that Kokoshibo kept the flute and I felt so bad for Akaza Edit: the reason why I said i felt bad for akaza was because his backstory and everything when he died from killing himself me and my sister cried I felt so bad for him I was literally crying when it showed his backstory

I think Kokushibo and Yoriichi's story is the best because it shows how it transforms into the Ying and Yang dynamic. But Akaza's story is really good also. But ultimately upper moon one has the best story

If you think about it, the Upper moons are basically an extension of all of Muzan's worst traits. Gyutaro: Born with a "cursed" body and has extreme hatred/envy for those who he believes are just born lucky. Kaigaku: Acts like he's superior but is secretly a coward who fears death and cares only for his own self-preservation. Gyokko: Narcissist and vain. Sees people as mere objects for his twisted experiments. Hatengu: constantly blames everyone but himself. Sends his lackeys to fight in place for him out of cowardice. Nakime: Kills others with no remorse for her own personal rewards. Akaza: Short tempered and has violent rage issues. Hates weaklings Douma: Has no empathy or feelings of guilt. Believes his crazy actions are correct. Kokushibo: Strives to be the best and the strongest even if it means giving up his humanity.
