Agreed, it was even stated that this ability was the most dangerous among the sins early on. Mental powers seem very rare in this series and Gowther is the king of them. Personally, the original Gowther could probably beat most characters in this series...I mean he mind fucked Mael. What cost him his life was the power to alter the minds of everyone that knew Mael.....it worked on Gods, that is no small feat. Plus as we have seen, illusionary powers are nothing to scuff at- Itachi and Aizen can attest to that.

A good list, but Infinity is easily in the top 3 abilities in this series if not outright the best. I am looking at the abilities more than just combat wise, but even combat wise Infinity allows for any spell no matter how grand to last for eternity, can loop spells that continue to increase in potency and increase magical attacks to exponential levels. The two gods wanting that power on their side cannot be understated, everything else is within their realm of power or are not of much note to them, except infinity!!! The Demon King couldn't even stop his own aging...demons age, just very slowly. The DK wanted a new young body, yet Merlin easily stopped her time forever. This ability isn't about versatility but its effect more than makes up for it. It is only limited by the amount of spells in your repertoire.

Cylus O'Brady Not exactly. While I agree infinity for spells is amazing. It does have its limits (oddly enough lol) Being that it only empowers magic Spells only. And magic spells in this series are NOT the be all end all. So while its true merlin can set up a deadly combo of spells, its useless against people who have power or strength beyond that of what merlins spells can do Zeldris for one was pulling in gravity so fast not even Merlins teleport could escape and would have been killed if wasnt for Escanor. Chandler absolute cancelled merlins infinite life and brought her back to a child form in the chapter after escanor and meliodas battled. And he cancelled out all of her magic spells. Or the demon king who is inheritantly immune to magic all together. This doesnt even touch on peoples powers like Maels or Kings whos bodies and powers are beyond simple magic spells. Regardless how cool infinity sounds, it is not all powerful because it only affects magic spells and powering them for good.

Djantou Ahmed Like this guy said. This should honestly be called eternity instead of infinity. All that it does is it sets the duration of the spell to infinite. So as if everyone else needs mana to keep the spell going merlin's still keep going. Then again the spell activated still needs the casting mana cost and it will only be as powerful as she is when she casts it. Think of like a lvl20 mage in an mmorpg casting a ray attack except the ray stays forever but it still doesn't mean shit to a lvl100 player since they flat on regen faster than that mini ray dmges them. It really shines in utility magic like time stops epower and so on imo. Also I see no reason that someone with anti magic wouldn't be able to cancel it.

She also used Infinity to power up the sunshine power put into gowther's self destruct ability....stated in manga too. So there is evidence that Infinity can power up spells...even if couldn't, she can simply use a empowerment spell that can then last forever. Her powers are incredibly broken in the series which is why she was never really utilized fully.

Umm, I'd just like to point out that no that wasn't meliodas's power, we was weakened drastically because A) when meliodas first fought escanor in his "the one mode" meliodas bodied him completely, even to the point where he threatened to kill escanor if he really wanted to die B) meliodas without assult mode was able to cause the retreat of mael with sunshine

Lil Rell I like how he says meliodas clone is weak but as I said meliodas clone could destroy all the holy knights or all of lioness only people in the world that could even challenge meliodas are king with full wings , ban after purgatory , mael with sunshine, zeldris, Merlin , the demon king and goddess ruler, the original demon, and ludoshell and I mean they are probably the only people to make meliodas fight as of right now and i doubt any of them could beat meliodas alone

Maybe Mael with sunshine, and post purg ban, but even then I don’t see anyone giving Meliodas a run for his money besides Mael the ONE. Edit: I really can’t make a judgement off how Meliodas would do against supreme diety, since we’ve never seen her.
