I honestly forgot how many aliens were in the series. Hork Bajir followed closely by the Andalites are my favs. Especially after becoming a Halo fan, I want a Hork Bajir to go toe-to-toe with an Elite.

I always was interested with the idea of the Leerans. While not particularly useful as any sort of physical hosts, apart from worlds where potential hosts live under water, their ability to read minds is rather fascinating to me. The Andalites can use telepathy, but that’s seems to be just about it beyond projecting images into another’s mind that they have direct contact with. My main thing was if there were some Leeran controllers off world at the time of the battle for the planet. If there were I could imagine the Yeerk Emperor secretly keep one for themselves as a side host so that they can know all the thoughts of those around them, even the other council members. It would be the absolute perfect way to know who was loyal and who wasn’t, which might explain why towards the end ‘Visser’ several council members are supposedly taken out.

Yep! It's a shame that, like many other aliens, their use wasn't explored past the main book they were used in.

I think the Arn are so important because they’re a foil to the Andalites. But then, I’m biased to literally every part of the Hork Bajir Chronicles. 😅

Taxxons deserve more love with how the yeerks always tried to find uses for them
@hisdudeness8328 Жыл бұрын
I always imagined that the Yeerks used the Taxxons as a sort of living prison. Yeerks that screwed up a lot, badly failed their superiors, or committed minor crimes, instead of putting them a physical prison, the Yeerks just put in Taxxons. Being subjected to that endless hunger would be horrific torture.
@AnimorphsUniverse Жыл бұрын
I think this is contradicted at the start of Visser. Edriss is tasked to have a Taxxon host as just a change of duty. Essam cocked up by letting a Dayang ship take a bunch of Hork-Bajir hosts, and yet he was able to keep his body; he just lost his rank.

@@A_Bottle-Of_Orange_Crush thank you. As I think about it. There appears to be no other life on Saturn and how its described sounds a lot like a cloud of rampaging nanobots than an animal lifeform. Number one for me are the Yeerks. So they fit the cartoons nature of bad guys for a kid series but it makes sense, honestly. It is too cheesey to have them so evil. Cool with killing one another and laughing while taking over a host. But... what's neat IMO is how that makes absolute sense. Okay... so... imagine you think and feel but have to enslave someone whose thoughts you share. You have to dehumanize that person to even live with yourself. The guilt of the yeerks does get explored. So by dehumanizing them, you can now enslave them without much guilt if any. But... okay... so now you've convinced yourselves these bladed dinosaurs are beneath you and stupid and don't deserve to live... well, bro... your mom and dad and lover and kids are these bladed dinosaurs. I know that's not how yeerks have kids and such but hear me out... when you look at the people who mean the most to you,you don't see that person. You don't see your wife, you see that thing you decided is stupid and worth enslaving. You have this natural reason why they are so okay with killing each other because to the yeerk they aren't killing a yeerk, they are killing the dumb dinosaur thing. It also doesn't help that those who are guilty by this are enslaved themselves so have a "ya well you hate being a slave? So do i" ... a yeerk can't just not listen to their boss. Their boss holds the keys to their food ... the yeerk pool. The yeerks themselves are slaves to their own government. Again, a reason they cartoonishly hate other yeerks
@AnimorphsUniverse Жыл бұрын
Hit the nail on the head. The Yeerks do not value individuality, for the most part, because they can't naturally fend for themselves.

I'm not sure if he even really counts under your guide lines... But for me Father will always be number one. If non sapient species were allowed... I'd absolutely choose the jubba jubba from the hork bajir chronicals. We never get a good look at them but I'll never get over the mental image of a massive, gorilla like beast, capable of only one thought : Kill. KILL AND KILL AND KILL.
