I don't remember this song but it has great energy, vocals and bass line.

This is the FAR superior version: 1) the real drummer (Frenchy O'Brien) isn't drowned out by an obnoxious drum machine. There's no droning bass synth track overlying the smooth interplay of bass, guitar and drums. It includes the section from 2:45 - 3:12 with REAL instruments playing real music instead of that choppy uh-uh-uh-uh-uh crap. And the single has so much reverb added to the vocals Astrid sounds like she's in the next room. On this version, her voice is organic and blends into the song.

Completely agree. When they released this as a single, the record company wanted it to sound more like "Obsession" and had the track remixed. As I recall (and it's been a few decades), the band wasn't happy with the remix as it was more of a marketing thing. This original version is much better.

I've always loved this version of this song, especially because the chord progression during "trust him to be, the kind of man he wants to be" moves in a positive direction whereas on the remix it moves to a more emotionally discordant direction.

I just read an article from a 1985 billboard magazine where the band members weren't really happy with the single mix - that the label pushed for a sound like "Obsession", so the remix was done without their input. I gotta admit though I was more into the single mix. Sorry guys!
