The Canada of Trudeau father, St Laurent, even Diefenbaker (US hated him more than Soviets) from 50, 60, 70, 80's that saw Canada be respected worldwide (Trudeau father was very close to the non aligned philosophy of Nehru. After him from the mid80's on Canada moved from independant country to lackey of the American empire for past 35yrs. The ones who will replace this Canadian government are neocon warmongers who are ideologically like McCain, Lindsey Graham, etc. They want more war with Russia, war with Iran because they're beholden to Israel, escalation with China. Our foreign policy will be only be worse and more identical to US. If the US says go after India, they will. When US ordered Trudeau to arrest the CFO of Huawei, Canada did it. So when the US wants to destabilize India like they did in Pakistan, they'll get their Canadian lackeys to do it. BRICS scares the US/G7 and being founding members of it along Russia and China makes India a big target to isolate and besmirch it. Canada in international politics the last 3 decades has been horrible and it was this bad for quite some time. ALL the 5 political parties are absolutely garbage on foreign policy.

Due to the supreme power which resides in the Prime Ministers office most people go mad in the job. The current PMs power has been virtually incontestable during his tenure, so the fact that his diplomats echo his view of supreme authority is not surprising. The issue in the mind of most Canadians arises from the fact that in order for the PM to maintain his position he has to pander to a Sikh member of parliament who props up his minority rule. Therefore the priorities of the Sikh community or members therein, are likely taking precedent and aggravating our position with India. This may be speculation, but usually the government is fairly transparent with their corruption.
