Love the reviews. The format is crazy consistent and you work it well; you are putting together a series of durable usefulness. It would be great to see your reviews of some of the more common inks, so we can better understand the properties of more rare or specialized inks. Most people have experience with a really common ink before they move into the other 700 options. For example, could you review Rohrer & Klingner Salix and Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black? Salix is often cited as an ink that stains -- so I'm curious to see how Salix performs on your ink removal tests. And everyone says the Pelikan inks are very dry -- how does that look on your viscosity tests, I wonder. Pilot cartridge and Lamy cartridge ink would be good to see as well. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I will be doing a bunch of "standard" inks next year.... Waterman, pilot, pelikan 4001 and a bunch of others. I tried to use some inks like Krishna to cover some more unusual inks in the first year. I will be showing the results of a bunch of "normal" inks for next year.

I don't have Lamy Petrol to put through the paces. Noodler's Air Corps, I am working on next years reviews and it isn't currently in the line up just because of how many noodle's inks I have don't this year. It will happen, just not for a while.

@@AnInkGuy Air Corp is my go-to blue-black, even before Noodler's Blue-Black (which I love), because weirdly it goes down green-black and matches my green pens. And then a few days later, it's blue-black and I can mistake it for the Noodler's Blue-Black if I didn't know I had used the Air Corp. I will be interested in your observations.

I think it makes a great " midnight blue ". You're hung up on blue / black ,which they're plenty of, and I don't think Nathan was trying for another. Clear your mind of blue/ black and just think of midnight, what do I think of midnight? Dark, mysterious.... Purple!!! So therefore I think that in this instance, the name quite clearly matches this inks color. 😎👍 and thanks for the review, I wasn't even aware of this Noodler's ink color. Stay inky!

Looking the chromatography it creates this this black line on the top that is reminiscent of a blue-black. But you are correct, I need to get it through my head that midnight blue isn't a blue-black and need to be looked at differently. I will try, no promises, I definitely have a bias towards blue-black. I will work on this. Thank you.

@@AnInkGuy I too have a bias toward blue black, and when I saw this Midnight blue, it looked like it was supposed to be one at first, and you know the rest! Right now I'm just inking a pen with Noodler's Air Corp blue black for the first time. I love trying every blue black I can get my hands on, or better yet - on my hands!🤣🤣 Cheers!

@@AnInkGuy Midnight does imply blue-black to me but I understand purple as a choice with that name. I do like the color but not enough to get me some.

Thank you for the awesome Review Adam! This ink was on my radar for a long time, haven't purchased it because I love diamine midnight blue and I don't like repeating names in my collection. I'm guessing the first Waterman ink will be coming in the next few days? (mysterious blue) I'm really curious where the waterman inks fall in your Bell curve, I've always found it really hard to put my finger on what exactly is that makes a good ink good. Looking forward to it! If not, guess I'm have to wait to see it serenity blue will make his appearance this year.

I get not wanting to repeat names on an ink shelf, avoid confusion. I don't have Waterman ready for this year but I will work on the waterman reviews for next year.

Is it a dye ink or pigment ink？

Usually a pigmented ink will state so,... therefore I would assume this is a dye ink. But I could be mistaken.
