The sister is used as a prop, a plot device, then the fact it wqs a murder is dropped, just like that. They just needed her dead to start the story but put like a torture porn ending to a child an ending that's irrelevant (could have been a car accident, anything, being a murder doesn't matter), the means of which are never brought up again. It just paints the author as a weirdo. The father hates the girl. The brother didn't stand up to his father in favor of the sister (even though he is clearly the favorite), propose any alternate solution (like picking that shit up the next day, in the morning) or go with his sister. Also he never accuses the father of the crime of neglect even AFTER the death... It just reeks of wanting girls to suffer or be props for a guy's revenge.
