Many thanks for your nice videos. BTW, they were a bit far back in 6 years ago. Are they still valid today? as I assume there should be hips of updates given changes in IT and associated laws/regulations.

Hi Ms Smith Thanks for your very helpful video. I am new to accounting. Just have a small question: At 13:40, why would there be an account for GST collection? I mean, itsn't the goverment's job to collect the GST not the business job? Or is it just an account to record how much GST where paid to the goverment? I dont understand I am new to the field. Hi, I wanted to ask a question, I'm following the videos and I'm about to order the book out, I'm a bachelor student of accounting, but I haven't taken this subject yet and I can't wait, I really want to get an internship on accounting, and the other day I got a call from a company that was interested in giving me the internship as long as I had taken the subject, do you think this 7 days would be enough for me to take an internship/ job in accounting with MYOB? Hi I'm enjoying your videos. Is there a checklist available that would help in confirming that MOYB has been correctly set-up??

Rod great question - but it would depend on your business model, and your taxation set-up. This is something a MYOB Consultant could check. Work through everything that would lead to the BAS creation and then the end of year financial reports. This would be checking the chart of accounts, and the linked tax codes, and how the BAS is set up, check the linked accounts and then check the company data auditor. But a consultant could help here.

Good video, but I'm confused how come GST paid is liability??? It's an expense for the business while GST collected is liability.
