So Alireza is skipping the World Rapid and Blitz to play in another Road to Candidates tournament starting from 26th Dec to get into Candidates? He failed to overtake Wesley after drawing the last of the 6 games in the previous Road to Candidates tournament. I mean dude, if you failed once in a "desperate" tournament, don't organize a SECOND "desperate" tournament. I guess he feels that since Ding is the defending WCC, the 2024 Candidates winner will have the best chance in his career to get the WCC. So each 2024 Candidates spot is like a Willy Wonka golden ticket.

Ahh the plot thickens. Looks like "Alireza is taking FIDE to court"(?) or "French Fed. taking FIDE to court"(?) Either way, I am WITH FIDE in *this case* - screw Firouzja, I would not RATE those 6 games he played. Fabi clearly asking "but it was registered just for him right?" May be FIDE is claiming either it 'was registered by Firouzja' ['party' registered] OR 'very short reg. period' [he says "party registered" or "partly registered" - can't hear clearly - BIG difference!] (of maybe in 2-3 days) according to MVL, but DONT forget MVL also plays *for France* , like Firouzja! Aside from the tournament which was clearly shady, I do NOT support players who don't play a whole lot, and SUDDENLY wanna qualify for the Candidates! Only SIXTEEN people have been active enough to even QUALIFY for the FIDE circuit, let's say!! [ *Proud to say 5 Indians among them* ] F*&k you Alireza (among the others who did not qualify: Magnus, Hikaru!)

Hikaru has qualified through Grand Swiss along with Vidit! He was the second rank holder in the Grand Swiss Tournament. Magnus Carlsen does not wants to fight for the World Champion Title but if he changes his mind in the near future he would get the place of Nijat Absusattarov!

Moments like these make a Chess player feel special like a celebrity otherwise magnus steals all the limelight. I understand what u r saying but players are enjoying it. Caruana mentioned that he hope this is documented on CBI when he asked Anish about dress code. Before the game and after the game Media is well within its right to cover and follow the players. During games I would like them to make videos from distance.
