Just wonderful; O'Day could play with the beat and the tune on the fly. She was a complete jazz musician. Sounds like the Herman band; does anyone know for sure?

Those Japanese musicians, two years removed from the end of The Pacific War were also fantastic. Anita O'Day was the best and she, obviously got the best of Tokyo in 63'.

Well, let’s not get carried away here. No doubt about it, Anita was great, but not quite in the same class as Ella.

@@Hithere-ek4qt I disagree. I think ANita had the nicer voice and was better on ballads. But that's a matter of taste on both our part. .
