Can we help our loved ones to heal from illness, or is it something they can only do for themselves?

People often ask me questions such as: "How can I help my loved one heal?" "I've tried everything to help my loved one heal, what else can I do?" "Is it even possible for me to help them heal, or is that only
something they can do on their own?"
I address this subject of helping loved ones who are going through health challenges, in this video. I share the steps you can take when caring for someone with a health challenge that will not only benefit them, but will benefit you as well. I discuss what is usually going on behind chronic illnesses, or repeated health challenges, and how to address it.

Anita, I'm so pleased you told your story in your own voice and didn't change it. My husband and i have both been really impacted and touched by what happened to you. I was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 years ago and so far outliving all the stats. I'm loving my life so much now. Thank you for continuing to speak up and not speak about having to battle against cancer. Helping us to live, laugh, enjoy life and love ourselves and others and the planet!! Great advice. I would love to join you in your Alaskan journey or to Antarctica!!

It’s been 12 years since losing my mother in law to her second round of cancer. In that experience, despite a very loving family she was surrounded by. I saw those people not have any concept of selflessness or strength. They all were to caught up in their own fear, and projecting their own weaknesses onto her. It was shameful. My response was to hold space for her, see her light and allow that to be, be strong for her to feel free and to be selfless to her needs which weren’t many. When people need you, they need the best you, you can be. It might be the last time you walk or share space with that person, how could you not put your stuff aside for that one, possibly last moment? Thank you for your message and this video, it confirmed my truth in how to handle supporting the people you love in their time of need.

Bless you for this, truly, bless you. It saddens and angers me when people do exactly what you mentioned -- being "caught up in their own fear, and projecting their own weaknesses onto" a sick person, instead of being selfless and strong for them. It breaks my heart. Your mother in law was lucky to have you.

You are so inspiring. A friend of mine gifted me ‘Dying To Be Me’. I am so happy to found you here. I was diagnosed in 2016 and choose to heal myself on my own. Meaning, naturally. I have some challenging days. I’m angry, resentful and in fear for my life some days. However, I’ve made a strong decision to live. To find the reason why I’m here. I rub my tumor now and at peace with it. I tell it I love it. I acknowledge it for what it is and I am thankful for this experience. Like I stated. I have some challenges but I know I have a bigger purpose. Thank you, Anita Moorjani.

So right Anita, to honour our loved ones boundaries especially when they're sick. My beloved cat was very ill n went into hiding, when I was trying to get him to the vet. It was only when my son arrived n asked me to leave because Tom was worried about ME?, I felt so much love from this beautiful intuitive animal. I stopped crying n left immediately n Tom came out from hiding n walked to the car with my son. Just a week later I had to make the decision to put Tom to sleep n not being with him traumatized me no end. Listening to you has lessened my brain from bursting with deep regret since 2009. Thank YOU Anita, for YOUR RETURN n sharing your acute wisdom n flowing love n please say hello to Danny x

I am living with an illness that has now caused additional health issues and I have been asking myself why did I agree to live this life? What is the point of this pain? The first part of this video felt like I was sitting right in front of you at the very moment of you recording. What you shared resonated on such a level that I’m left overwhelmed. It definitely leaves me really thinking about the parts of myself I have ignored and sacrificed for others or even thoughts that didn’t belong to me. I’m so grateful this video found it’s way to me.

Dear, you are not alone. I have been pretty much bed ridden for the past three years. At first, all I could think about was how to end my life. However, after hysterical crisis where I destroyed whatever I could put my hands on. But I also kept talking to the Divine, chanting mantras and suddenly a few insights about my real being became clear. I am not what I thought but my negative thinking patterns caused by deep depression created my disease as a consequence. I am healing now and no longer willing to play games with people. My time is very precious and I only do what I love. I used to be very anxious about everything now I am learning to let go because the Divine Intelligence knows how to heal me completely. We only need to relax and enjoy the ride. God bless you!

I so appreciate your insights, Anita. My Aunty so wanted to live, but at the end days, her grand daughter in law and I sat vigil in hospital. The grand daughter in law oit of love attended a hospice session on dying. Unfortunately, she was determined to say over and over to my Aunt that she could die now. That it was ok to go. It would have been ok if it was once or twice..but it became a tragic plea. When in fact Aunty would pass when it was her time. I felt the same as you, Anita. Just love the person. She was very good to her in all ways. Wipe their brow, talk normal..say prayers is usually nice..listen to soft music. Aunty departed 30 days after the tragic accident of her son who drowned on Mother's day last year. Sadly, the daughter in law..my second cousin'swife lost her own mom before the year was out. She is young to have lost 3 important family members in 3 months. She..my Aunty was a strong woman...I miss her very much. We had 6 family and extended family losses in one year... Last year..it was a challenging one. I am comforted to hear your story Anita and encouraged about the souls of our dearly departed being in a better place. . Love from Canada.

Gosh Anita, when you said we should motivate a loved one who is ill, my thoughts went straight to my sister. Her two daughters are beautiful and doing well in life, but she is still feeling the guilt of falling short with respect to them, for some reason or other. Some time ago I lovingly urged her to let them go and have them lead their own lives, so that she can move on with her own life and fulfill her own needs. She's my little sister and i love her. She's doing so well in life and it's time for her to start realizing that.

Thank you for a genuine session, Anita. I'm so happy for you that a movie is created based on your first book and that your lifestory remains authentic in it. The question here is a subject close to my heart and I'm exploring, learning, how to be with sick and unconscious people around me. What I experienc in my life, while being with people with low self-esteem, is that they use my presence as a means to compare themselves, projecting an image on me of being someone who knows and does better. They tell me how bad they feel about themselves, while they're in shame and suffering from past experiences. In a way, it seems that they love their suffering and in a martyr-style way they've got to chew on it as long as it offers satisfaction to their pain body. The unconsciousness or lack of self-empowerment prevents such a person from letting go of the suffering, for it's the alternative for not being able to ground themselves in feeling good, improve circumstances and enthusiasm, for being alive. In such circumstances I can't be in equality and resonance, with such a person and I have to distance myself without arguing, in respect.

Wow what clear concise advice - It helped me to understand soo much of what I am experiencing right now and to drop the guilt of not wanting to see people.. and finding joy in life again and having forgotten what it is to being a well person and doubting one's alternative choices when people want one to follow the so called 'experts' advice and being afraid of following one's own feelings that 'cancer isn't in the body but in the consciousness' as I've intuited. Thank you dear Anita for helping me to understand and feel alright about what I'm going through at the moment!

Hi Anita, huge fan and love all of your videos! My mom suffers from early onset of Parkinson's disease. At this point, she has severe tremors, and is dependent on others for most of her mobility/movements. How can I help her feel mentally OK, and keep her spirit alive in the process?

I can't wait to see the imagery they will use to show your experience on the other side. I hope they get this movie right. Recent movies about this subject have fallen way short with bad direction, acting and production. I tried, I really did, but Heaven is For Real was terrible, The Shack was okay, Miracles From Heaven was nearly excruciating to watch. Is this still a Ridley Scott film? There's hope!
