Anjan Dutt | In Conversation With Ghosh | BIG I ART FOUNDATION SILIGURI.

Anjan Dutt is an Indian film director, actor, and singer who is most recognised for his contributions to the Anyodharar Gaan subgenre of Bengali alternative music. Dutt made his acting debut in Bengali cinema with the Mrinal Sen film Chalachitro, for which he received the Venice Film Festival's best newbie actor prize. He performed in the popular movie Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, directed by Aparna Sen. In 2018, he played Vincent Van Gogh in Swapnasandhani's brand-new play Taraye Taraye, which was directed by Kaushik Sen. He has directed "Dutta Vs. Dutta," "Madly Bangali," The Bong Connection, Chalo Let's Go, and Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona, and he is one of the most well-known directors of Bengali cinema. He has recently been the director of the Byomkesh Bakshi film series.
BIG I ART FOUNDATION SILIGURI.
The Big I Art Foundation SILIGURI for Contemporary Arts was established in 2017 by eminent artist Dipayaan Ghhosh in the heart of the city of Siliguri, West Bengal. This registered non-profit organisation has the vision to make Siliguri an acknowledged centre of excellence and innovation in contemporary art. The northern part of West Bengal Siliguri is rich in its multiple identities-may they be rural, urban, secular, or religious-and full of cultural diversity in its demographic landscape. Originally, Siliguri was a commercial city, but due to its geographical location, it is possible to see the coexistence of people with the diversity of nature. From the snow-capped Himalayan Kanchenjunga (the world's third-highest mountain peak) to the forested doors and mountain springs, numerous rivers surround the city. The foundation is committed to engaging, nurturing, and promoting Siliguri art culture and providing a platform to reflect and augment this diversity through a synthesis of contemporary and traditional art forms and mediums. The Foundation positions itself as a dynamic, artistic, and intellectual platform for experimentation and creativity. Its objectives include supporting emerging artists, especially those from marginal areas, and actively facilitating an informal network of contemporary artists within the region and abroad. It aims to explore how art can be used as a tool for social change. It promotes discussions and art appreciation of contemporary visual practises. For the last 5 years, it has been developing new and active audiences and a space for critical debate through its work. The 'Short-lived Artist Residency' Programme that started in December 2021 invites artists, curators, writers, and art enthusiasts to interact, experiment, and work with the local community and materials. It encourages them to move out of the comfort of defined spaces and work in new circumstances. For this reason, the residency provides an opportunity to take advantage of traditional artistic techniques and materials. The resident is invited to conduct workshops, participate in local community activities, and visit several heritage sites in the region to stimulate their creativity during her or his time there. As a non-profit organisation, BIG I ART FOUNDATION SILIGURI counts on support from public and private institutions, as well as individuals, to develop its artistic activities. This funding is vital to encouraging young artists to experiment and express themselves beyond conventional boundaries. In its uncompromising commitment to nurture and support creative activities by providing appropriate infrastructure and facilities. BIG I ART FOUNDATION SILIGURI seeks committed endowment benefactors and programme partners to support us in this direction.

অঞ্জন বাবুর কথা শুনতে দারুন লাগে এবারেও লাগলো। একটা অদ্ভুত hypnotism আছে ওর ভাষায়, কিন্তু ইন্টারভিউর এর সিনেমা জ্ঞানের খামতি, আর বোকা বোকা বস্তাপচা প্রশ্ন বড্ড বিরক্তিকর।আর যেখানে অঞ্জনবাবু Hollywood musicals কে রেফার করছেন সেখানে ইন্টারভিউর এর realisation ar reaction টা যে কি বাজে আর বোকা বোকা কি বলবো।
