It's so weird seeing Anjelica as herself. I'm so used to seeing her play these mean, snobby, yet prim and proper villains so it's so strange and cool to see her so real and happy and funny! :)

Mr. North is a nice movie...no violence, no film noir & she’s stunning with a small part. Her brother Danny was director or producer, her dad had asked Robert Mitchum to take his place & several famous people are in it including Lauren Bacall, Harry Dean Stanton, Anthony Edwards, her sister Allegra in a tiny part, Tammy Grimes, Virginia Masden & Hunter Carlson, plus a bunch of other character actors! 1988.

Hollywood is anti-age. They don't like to use older women no matter how talented they are. They could take a cue from the Brits who regularly use their great talents like Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Miriam Margolyes. Hollywood is a joke!

Wow, the comment from Tony Redgrave is the exact same thing my high school art teacher said to me: "You have so much talent, but you don't have any ambition, and you're not going to do anything with your life." This was shortly before high school graduation. It really shocked me and I stopped painting and drawing and even forgot that I ever was interested in visual arts until my roommate began to paint. My teacher said that to me because she wanted me to apply to art schools and I told her that I was planning to study biology. I grew up pretty working class, and pursuing art in college seemed to me like a luxury I couldn't afford. I had to do something practical. In the end, I ended up with a master of fine arts in creative writing. Go figure.

Omg, Morticia Addams! I love this woman! The Witches was one of my absolute favorites when I was a kid and her beautiful face, (under the mask), I've always remembered her face from that movie. Ever After, loved her as the step mother. Love this woman! ... I wish Joy would stop bringing up Jack Nicholson. It was a long time ago and she's doing that typical TABLOID interview questioning, just wanting to know the drama of her personal life. I wanna hear about more and more about Angelica Huston professionally BECAUSE she was so underrated in Hollywood for so long and she is worth so much more than the credit she's been given.

Joy Behar: you are an excellent interviewer. This is one of a few times I’ve watched you when it wasn’t The View, and clearly you talents are prodigious. A frequently seen interviewer on this show (92Y) asks such complex questions such that the interviewee only has to say yes or no. So the show feels like it’s not about the guest, but the interviewer. Congrats on this show❤!

Omg I love both these women. Joy I have been watching nice day one on the View. I went into nyc to be in the audience several times and even got to sit next to her once when they made the ladies sit in the audience for a fashion show there. I identify with her so much…same age same frizzy hair, teacher, hatred of drump so many things we have in common she kept me sane though the hell years of that orange wanna be dictator. Anjelica, I read 2 of her books. She is so refined and educated I love her writing. I’m going to listen to this book again, I cant get enough. Love her describing her dad and the way she captures his voice in her story. I love the love they had. She is so amazing ❤ my heart breaks for her losing her mom so young …all her adventures and experiences, so enjoyable. Big fan ❤ so happy I found this today.

Both of them get the Polanski story wrong: he did his sentence and then the judge - who was a publicity hound judge, ala Lance Ito or the judge in the Casey Anthony case - decided to sentence him AGAIN, for a second time. That's when he bailed, and that's why no one will extradite him. I'm all for getting on your high horse, but at least know the facts.

Joy can you help me understand how it is that you felt ok with glossing over Angelica's justification of Polanski's Pedophilia? Her comment about how it was happening much more back then is not only inaccurate, it coldly dismisses the countless victims of rape/molest in our current day and age. How is it that she is so grossly out of touch? More importantly ,however inexplicably, she believes that nonsense, it is no way a justification. Help me understand why you didn't call her out more thoroughly? You claim to be a feminist. What the hell is wrong with you?

I think (and I know this is an old comment, don't ask me how I ended up watching this interview in 2020) that what Anjelica meant was really not justifying Roman Polanski at all. I remember reading somewhere that Anjelica herself had been involved with a much older man when she was only sixteen, and then at eighteen she was again in a relationship with a much older man (the names escape me but I believe I read it on wikipedia). I believe that when she saw this young girl with Polanski (especially if she looked older, perhaps around 16) she probably didn't think much of it because she was used to things like that happening, they had happened to her not too many years ago and she had internalized this logic, that older men can go out with teenagers. I'm only defending her because later she talked about the movie she made which was about a sexually abused young girl and the way she discussed it makes me feel like she has the right mindset about it. I think in the Polanski segment she was mostly referring to her past self's reaction - let's not forget that she was breaking up with Jack Nicholson and had cocaine in her purse, so I doubt that she was stable enough to make a clear judgment. Anyway, sorry for this long comment. I'm quarantining and have nothing better to do.

When I first saw Godfather part 3 I had no idea that the director's daughter was the actor playing Michael Corleone's daughter, nor her being a replacement for the original actor and I could tell she was not good at the role... so it has nothing to do with nepotism, nor her looks, etc... the rest of the cast had more experience/better training/acting talent/screen presence... whatever you want to call it and it's kind of ridiculous that these ladies can't see what's obvious... she turned out to be a very interesting film director though.
