Jaya is entitled as Asia's Queen of Soul and yes she really has a very wide vocal range in fact She can belt as high as A5 and I believe she can do higher than that.. She is one of the Pillars in the Music industry in the Philippines.. she is the best friend of Regine Velasquez (Check it to know her) and she has a powerful belt and can sustain that tone as long as 15-25 seconds.. I love that plummy chocolate tone from Jaya who is obviously a Contralto. And KZ is a mezzo so she has a selection high and low notes to play with. However it is not true that contraltos can't sing high. Many have upper extensions to sing Mezzo fach or, more rarely, Soprano, if they can achieve the high C. Cher can perform up to F6 for example

Those runs are blues and jazzy notes. Such notes are not all in key because those notes really have some notes out of the progression but a wrong choice of note would sound off. Jaya used great blues and jazzy notes sir. She's not done an "out" note like what you have said in the end. It is blues and jazz. And those are the characteristics of such music.
