thank you for showing the quick test result. It is very kind of you saving us time.

I had s300 and returned it, S500 is a much better option for conference calls.

Which product would you put in your parents house if they, hard of hearing, had trouble understanding callers. their Iphone speaker phone isn't loud or clear enough. Music speakers get loud but strangly not clear. Thanks for your videos. Cheers

A very good test! More sections in the timeline would have appreciated, but it was easy to navigate regardless. What I'd would love to hear is how dual Powerconf S500 setup works when one is on USB-C and other is connected to that via Bluetooth. To see if that improves the quality.

Yes, sorry, I don't really have an area large enough to test that (and make it a valid test) but I'm curious to know how well this would work across two rooms.
@agglad22302 жыл бұрын
I've tested dual setup with S500, works great, no issues (with usb-c and bluetooth). After having S300 and S500, i wouldn't even compare the two further. S300 just doesn't have enough power to deliver.

Great test, the S500 speaker is great, but the mic pickup is not nearly as good as the Mac mic or even my Logitech camera's mic. Bummer.

The problem with speakers like this is that laptops do a really great job now and software such as Teams etc has superb noise cancellation as standard. These sound better and are louder which might be useful at times but personally, i find a small meeting room and my laptop is fine.

Would have appreciated a music test as well. I think most people like to listen to music at their desk as well as needing to have the speakerphone capability (in my case, it's actually probably skewed 90/10 that way!). So I don't see why one wouldn't want to test both the speech and music capabilities. I see you have nice monitor speakers there, but don't overlook the fact that most users will not have that available.

Thanks for the comparison review. I am assumed from others comments that the microphone pickup is probably not going to be as good a other dedicated mic; such as Logitech Blue Snowball. but it's probably an easier setup to move around the house or travel with. At least, based on your test and comments below, would it be fair to say that this might be a good option for office conference room, but for home office, the laptop built-in mic and speaker, or dedicated microphone (like Blue Snowball) and speaker might be better options for home use? Like to hear your and everyone else's comment on this. In any case, thanks for the excellent test and review. Certainly help me think carefully about getting one.

Review was great as far as it went. It would have been much more useful to test the products with one of the meeting rooms having 6 people round a table at varying distance from the Anker.

This is just what I needed. Published only yesterday, so very timely. Thanks for that. Question: What was the distance to the microphone when your partner was at the far end of the room?
@tdcattech2 жыл бұрын
The bookcase is about 4m from where the device was placed. The room has quite high ceilings too which doesn’t help with acoustics.

@@tdcattech Thanks. I'm buying for my club, which meets in a large room within a museum. We held our monthly meeting today, so I had a chance to measure the distances. If placed in the center, I think the furthest anyone will be is 5m, and most people less. If needed, people further away can move to a seat nearer the mic. I ordered the S3, as it is on sale here for only $85 USD (63 BPS) and the S500 is $220 USD (163 BPS). From what I heard in your demo, it did not seem worth 250% more for the S500. I can write back in another month of two if you're interested in how it goes, or, if you find ship models interesting, you can listen in on a meeting ;-) Thank you again for the informative video.

@@hamptonroadsshipmodelsocie6390 Curious how the S3 worked out for you. I'm in a similar situation, looking for a mic that will pick up around 5m or so for a daily morning briefing.
@gkharrin2 жыл бұрын
@@JaredRackley , disappointing as a microphone. The web cam (Anker C300) does a much better job picking up voice from an even further distance. We're using the S3 as a speaker only.

Decisions, Decisions... the best sounding was you speaking so whatever you're using to make video is best. When comparing conference speakers the first one sounded better to me and for the cost difference it doesn't justify it. Yes you get better looking device but we're looking for best mic sound received.
