This is a technical review of this power bank. It is a technical video... So, yeah, not as flashy as others but has measured data in it, which would not be allowed by a sponsor. I wish they'd say if it was sponsored by the product in the video before you click on it, that's click bait and switch, you just got fooled into watching a really long commercial... So, if you don't want to watch a commercial and don't mind a bit of boring measurements, terrible video work, and monotone talking, watch my video, haha, really selling it...

So, I tested my Anker 140W cable's resistance that came with my C300 DC and got 140-ish mOhms. I compared it to one that came with the 737 and it had about 110 mOhms. They have seemed to use a different vender and the easy way to tell the difference between the 2 is that the one with the Solix has 140W above the MAX when reading it like the one in your video. The one with lower resistance that came with the 737 has 140W below the MAX when reading it. Although I only showed a 30 mOhm difference. There are less obvious differences as the Solix cable's overall diameter is smaller, the logo is deeper embossed into into the molding.
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
Yeah, it's cheaper for sure. I was going to show the diameter difference also. I also must have a really good older cable, outlier in the other direction. I do have all of the Anker cables so could probably show the evolution. I don't want to cut them up since I use some of them.
@tmkauthАй бұрын
@AllThingsOnePlace after more looking into it, I have purchased multiple 737's over a year ago and a couple of new Prime (250W and 200W) banks for family members and recently recieved the C200 DC. Both Anker Solix (the c200 and c300) came with "140W MAX" cables and both tested at 140 nOhms. All 5 of the "MAX 140W" cables that came with the 737 and Prime tested around 110 mOhms. So it maybe that the Solix branded stuff is the determining factor in recieving these less capable cables.
@tmkauthАй бұрын
@@AllThingsOnePlacemaybe in future videos, you could add a small bit about the capability of the included cable recieved with the item being tested. And what can you say about the Anker PowerPort Atom III 65W Slim charger adapter, is it safe for the battery and charge controller of smartphones?
@AllThingsOnePlace28 күн бұрын
Chargers do degrade over time. Smaller and hotter they operate the faster they degrade. Some in only a year with heavy use. But with moderate use and not maximizing the wattage output of the device they should last quite a long time. 5+ years is possible. The PowerPort Atom III is one of the better slim chargers. In terms of battery management , it's all in the device. The charger can't do anything about it really.

It works with any PD USB C charger. You don't need to charge it at maximum speed, actually it's less efficient if you do. I'd use the Anker 240W charger with one cable to charge it. It won't be overloading that charger then and both should last reasonably long.

Hi, I"m not very skilled in battery usage, but my usb-c outlets are only pushing 20 to 24 watts. How do I get more/higher wattage out? Do I need a a higher rated cord?
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
Generally, the device decides how much power it needs not the supply. So, at 20-24 watts the connected device is choosing that as the power level it needs. You can't force more watts into the device, that can cause issues. There can be mode compatibility issues depending on what it is, but if it's up to 20-24 watts it probably negotiated some kind of PD mode.

Couple things: 1. Is this fan cooled? I saw the 104F max operating temp and think that’s pretty low. Concerned if there’s no fan. 2. You mention this is not a UPS and all energy hits the battery. Can you explain more? If the load and charge are balanced wouldn’t it just charge across the battery tabs? Or are you saying if the charging from the usb stops then all ports will stop for a moment? Thx
@AllThingsOnePlace18 күн бұрын
1) No fans. Passive cooling only. 2) This device will charge to full, then stop using energy from the input. The output will stay on, but it will be drawing from the battery even with an input supply connected.
@TheChrisMoris17 күн бұрын
@@AllThingsOnePlaceooof that’s not good. Few other questions: 1. Do you know if you can set an upper charge limit (like 80%)? I’m guessing not since LFP might lose its SOC state. 2. the 12v out port is probably the most important aspect of this guy. you can just plug in a small ac inverter if you need and skip buying the more expensive version with the built in inverter. i believe the cig port is regulated 12v though. havent found any tests showing how much it can put out say through a 140w inverter or something. guessing 10amps? most stuff that uses that port uses up to 10 amps in cars. would be cool if it could boost that cig port up to 24 volts. lot of big rig/trucker stuff uses that port with a 24v out... thats why all those dc powered fridges will run without modifications on 24v dc. imo the cig port really future proofs the device too coz you can stick a "car charger" adapter in there if you need more usbc or extra usba ports. kind of modular. copying most of the features of this guy for my diy lifepo4 power pack builds but probably going to run unregulated cig port. maybe just a 10-15amp automotive fuse or something. then i can plug in a big inverter if i wanted to use like that. going for 32ah (~500wh) in the same package. those lifepo4 32ah cells are really cheap right now if you buy in bulk, i think about 7 bucks each
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
It is 10A and 12V regulated. So, that also comes with some higher losses. Yeah, 24V would be nice to get some more usable power out of it, the battery can certainly handle it, even if only for an hour in this case, but yeah, fusing, a bit more energy, and a direct connection to a protected battery would be able to power a lot more things.

I don't understand "not a UPS". A double-conversion UPS does exactly this full time AC-DC-AC.
@adriftatlasАй бұрын
Yep. His choice of language is going to confuse people. Sure, it may not be a standby/offline/bypass UPS,. A double conversion (online) UPS is a highly reliable often expensive UPS. He may not like that efficiency would be 79.5% if used as a UPS but it's not like AC to DC adapters for stuff like network gear are 100% efficient. The LiFoPO4 battery inside is more likely to fail due to passage of time rather than constant cycling.
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
It isn't a double conversion UPS either. It actively will not take power from the mains and push it to output, so outputs will only draw power from the battery. A UPS, online or double conversion, while powered, could care less if the battery is present. This is certainly a software limitation in this unit though. The circuitry is in place to be a UPS.

Efficiency and weight mostly. For a smaller power station like this, using the AC inverter uses a pretty substantial amount of the energy, I guess really these smaller power stations as a whole don't make sense.

@AllThingsOnePlace I use mostly a 12v socket for the refrigerator. AC for Fans during summer. USB fans don't have the CFM.

There is a model for this Anker C300 AC.

I don't need the weight of the AC inverter though. That's the whole point of the DC version.

@@sergeykonchalo the price jump...an external 12-24v 200w ac inverter for ~20$ would be a more practical choice
