As I course through life at eighty-five, my mind reminisces a three-fold memory of the word Ratan. First is a song from the film Ratan "Aakhiyan milake chale nahin jana", which was a superhit in the 1950s. Second,, I came to Panvel, a small town about forty-five kms from Mumbai in 1949, to live with my aunt. Across the street happened to live a family with a beautiful young lady named Ratan. Finally, there was a theatre, the only one in those days in Panvel , called the Ratan talkies!
