Hey so what do I do when I move on to the next topic. Ex: I finish cardio and move on to Endo for BnB. Do I go back and suspend Cardio? or do I just keep unsuspending cards as I move forward so eventually the whole deck is activated?

No, You keep them unsuspended and eventually you'll unlock the whole deck.

If you were to suspend cardio, youd be defeating the purpose of anki, that is as a spaced-repetition app~

Locking/Suspending the deck will not show any cards as ‘New Cards’ Then when you study a topic, you can selectively unlock/unsuspend the cards of that topic so they come as ‘New cards’

Just press the cogwheel buttons next to your deck. Change limit of new cards from ‘20’ to ‘9999’

do you recommend using lightyear? and if so which one? I only use bnb as a source of study with first aid2020. and sketchy for micro and pharma using peppers. I find anking so overwhelming and cant keep up with choosing relevant cards I waste a lot of time doing so.

Lightyear is good and extensive too but it lacks the extra information once you answer the card. It gives you none to less context on the card to remind you of the big picture. One more thing is that the formatting of the card (underline, bold, colours) is pretty bad in LightYear compared to Anking and I think that makes a difference too when you have to grind 100’s of cards everyday Anking has BnB tagged too so workflow shouldn’t be a problem! I can say that for sure because I helped in tagging the BnB cards myself and I use the BnB tags all the time. Even though Anking is better in my opinion, I totally get your point that it can seem a bit overkill. I’d recommend you to try LightYear for sometime and see if it suits you. If not, then the Anking workflow should be no problem I can say for sure. Hope this helps :)

@@MadAboutMedicine I used it for 2 days and I am flying through it cause in back of my mind I know dr rayn explained it and I ve already read it in first aid. anking takes minimum of 2hrs to choose right cards and to see how this connects to this topic in 1st aid and what dr rayn explained and some times it doesn't connect it gets me burn out. yes the bolding and colors are wonderful in anking but it gets me to memorize this specific card without good explanation I heard and understood before really tough but light year saves a ton of time not having to process what I know vs what I dont know.

Hi, is it possible to unlock all the cards in a category, but then have a setting which will only reveal a certain amount of cards everyday automatically? For example if you had 100 cards which are locked, but you don't want to have to manually unlock 10 new cards everyday. Is it possible to set it up so that they unlock themselves?

Yes! You can change the daily limit for new cards/day in the options of the deck. Just click on the cogwheel icon next to your deck and change the New Cards/day limit to 10. Now no matter how many cards you unlock, you’ll only get 10 new cards a day.
