Great video, thank you for sharing this! I'm at the beginning of my MCAT journey and think doing the kaplan books and doing anki for review/memorizing the chapters will be really helpful. That and practice tests is my plan. (AAMC question sets after kaplan and tests periodically, switching between kaplan and AAMC)

Thank you! The one thing I have been having trouble with is that by the time you finish a book, you are reviewing so much Anki that it takes a super long time to finish all of the sections for the chapters, and you feel it is almost impossible to keep up when you have completed multiple books. Other than just alternating which sections I review, do you have any advice for how I can keep this workload a manageable size?
@InformingFutureDoctors Жыл бұрын
That's kind of the beauty of doing Anki! By reviewing your anki cards, you won't have to revisit and reread chapters because you're essentially reviewing bits and pieces of the relevant information everyday. I know it can feel overwhelming and time consuming, but it's essentially just spending a little bit more time during your first pass so that you never have to revisit the book again. The other option is to end up rereading the books 2 or 3 times and still not knowing it lol. This is the same way I do my medical school studying and memorize books on end.... Did I answer your question?

Can you watch the KA videos but use the Rebopbebop deck because it’s more thorough instead of using the Mile Down Deck ?
@InformingFutureDoctors2 жыл бұрын
You could but the best solution for that would be the AnKing MCAT deck! There's a rumor that I might be making a video on that soon!

I looked into the Jacksparrow2048 deck as well, is there a reason you personally prefer ReBopBeBop deck? Thanks!
@InformingFutureDoctors Жыл бұрын
iirc the Sparrow deck uses a Front/Back format instead of a Cloze (AKA "fill in the blank") format. I'm a much bigger fan of the fill in the blank format for speed's sake so I opted for the rebop deck.

To review old chapters each day, will I have to suspend those chapter decks again?
@alexissyms93102 жыл бұрын
? If we prefer using the MileDown deck from Week 0 coupled with KA videos will there be content gaps since Rebop’s is so thorough? If so how do we incorporate both decks into our studying?
@InformingFutureDoctors2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I am more of a High Yield + Strats >>> Low Yield type of person so I think MileDown has more than enough. No need to use both because they're both sufficient
@calvinhunter85572 жыл бұрын
Along the same lines. I have been using MilesDown alongside the Kaplan books, unlocking cards that were related to the chapter. My question is: Is this route inefficient?
@estef19992 жыл бұрын
Hello! I just watched the week 0 video and am just starting your program. Do you recommend I use this deck instead? I have all the Kaplan books! Thank you :)
@InformingFutureDoctors2 жыл бұрын
Hey estef, it's up to you! I personally would use the MileDown x Khan Academy method bc that's just my preference but you could do this method if you prefer using textbooks instead. However, you'll have the break the chapters down into weeks on your own! Goodluck studying and make sure you grab a study partner because it makes it easier!

What do you mean take the mcat as an "open book test"? Is this method a good for someone taking the mcat in 3 months?
@InformingFutureDoctors Жыл бұрын
I was implying that if you memorize the high points of the books via anki, you'll essentially have access to them via your memory on the exam. My favorite Anki deck at the moment is the AnKing one. Look on our channel for a video similar to this one where I show you how to use the AnKing deck (which contains MileDown's Khan Academy deck and a Kaplan deck similar to this one)

Why would you recommend this deck over anking Mcat?
@InformingFutureDoctors2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I’m not saying I do recommend it over any other deck, I was just showing students how to use a deck that’s tailored with the Kaplan books! I could be wrong, but I believe the AnKing Overhaul deck is based on the MileDown deck so the workflow alongside Kaplan books wouldn’t be quite as smooth.
