Wow. Ankita knows her stuff. The ONLY quibble I have with anything she said is she expected camera write speed to be faster with CFexpress cards, and initial testing might show it's actually slower than XQD. (Although this might be more so the case with the Z6 and Z7.) Overall, excellent review by a photography pro.

Great job, brava, I liked this one ! Past time I wasn't questioning the toughness of the camera at all, rather the fact you were putting at risk so much gear without keeping right/enough distance from the players or using a monopod. Only in the video you risked to be hit a couple of times and losing your stance balance is a matter of a second.. Now, if you're a PJ in a war zone and you need to take THAT shot, well, that's what you paid and got the camera for; yet handling such a heavy and expensive combo in a slippery and risky environment just for the sake of it.. well, you know what I mean ! One more thing.. you said you are waiting for a Z9 (or whatever the D6 equivalent will be); I think we'll probably see it next year and if any, it should be a little lighter for the mirrorless thing - no idea how much weights the mirror box on the whole; I wonder if in the Z9 they will overcome the 30 MP barrier or keep the 20 MP sensor.

Thank you Dino. Glad you liked it. For me each photograph I make is worth taking the risk. Honestly I don't mind the 20MP at all. Just because I get so many other things in return which are more important like the low light performance. Have made some of the best photographs of my career on the D5 and have been able to print them pretty big whenever needed. Having said that, if they do cross the barrier without compromising on other things, that's just going to be a win for us.

Ankita..I am sad about Nikon company is going through heavy financial crisis...But they are the best camera manufactures in whole world...There all cameras are very good..d780..d6..z6.z7 and all..Hope Nikon will come back from all this crisis...My questions is this d6 is about 1450 grams with lenses and flash 2750 grams...How you hold d6 with your small hands...? feels shoulder pain? Which software using for nef..Raw..Correction?..You are a good rewiever ..And talented ..Post more videos... Congrats...

I am sure they will come out of the crisis specially with so many new launches and their new strategies. Nikon has never in my experience come out with a bad camera. Thats the reason I trust Nikon. As far as shoulder pain goes never felt it. In fact I used to use the D5 at weddings the entire day. Flash I prefer using off camera. I use Adobe Photoshop with RAW plugin for colour correction. hi, im big Nikon fan, im confused which one to go for D780, D850 or Z7, im a traveller, I love photography and makes video for KZbin . I have invested decent amount of money in Nikon lenses. Please help

Hi, I think you'll have to make a decision between mirrorless and DSLR. If you need the resolution then go for D850/Z7 and if not then go for D780/Z6. All of these cameras are excellent. I have tested them out and didn't find any problems. If you make videos as well, then why don't you consider the Z6? It has the added advantage of IBIS and videos without crop.I personally use the Z7 and my team uses the Z6 and they are very happy with it. nice video as always; just to point a curious bit, at 541 you shot vertical but somehow your hand went for the traditional shutter instead of the vertical grip controls... I guess memory muscle of the z7 that does not have vertical controls ? :)

Very true and well spotted. At this time my main camera was Z7, was testing the D6 and had been a while since I shot on the D5. Now I have been shooting on the Z9 since last year and used to the vertical grip again

Hello! You nearly convinced me to go for a D6 to upgrade from my D3S… but as you know the Z9 is there now and the price difference between a second hand D6 and a new Z9 is not big enough… I’ll wait again a little ! What I really love about the D# is the optical viewfinder but it seems that the Z9 has gone further in the quality of the EVF… I need to grab one and check this. Did you?

First, the OVF is important for me Second, I have such a complete and powerful set of F lenses Third, yes I know the FTZ works fine but I don’t like the final aesthetic Forth, the ISO performance and maximum value of the D6 is at a higher level than what the Z9 offers, mainly for indoor sports… But I’m not closed to the mirror less world as I have a L mount system for another kind of photography where the AF and ISO are less precious to have for the result.

do you use Back Button Focus at all, I do as it's so damn convenient on static and once I also choose Continuous you just keep AF-ON button depressed and just have to concentrate on shutter button only for taking the shot.

It's a personal choice. I have shot on all camera brands during my career. I prefer the colour science, ergonomics and reliability of Nikon cameras. Do test it out once if you get a chance.
