Ann Miller was the epitome of Hollywood glamour. She did it all, sang, acted and boy could she dance. Love her.

Her attitude exhudes Golden Age. At 61, she had the same energy as when she filmed 1949's "On the town". Amazing

Ann Miller, one of the best and most talented Hollywood musical performers. I was fortunate to meet her while sitting in a dark movie house one day (early 80s) on the La Cienega Boulevard strip theatres. Matinee, film showing of a flop movie that had just come out starring Shirley Maclaine. A few seats behind me I heard a few broads trashing the movie saying what on earth possessed Shirley to do this movie. The voice that stood out to me belonged to none other than Ann Miller. I could not hold myself back and I just had to get up and go and introduce myself. She, Ann Miller was so kind and accommodating and to my surprise the other two lady friends sitting next to Ann Miller we're, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. All of them reached over to shake my hand. What a moment. :)

Luckily, I had the pleasure of meeting both Joan and Ann! I met Joan and her husband, Edgar, at Spago on the Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, during my college graduation dinner with friends. Said hello, chatted small talk, and informed her had tickets to HER show on Fox. Based on our "meeting", went to show and had 2nd row-aisle seats, right near where she gave her monologue! Incredible evening! 😀 I met Ann, while working at the Robinsons-May store in Beverly Hills, in the women's shoe dept. We chatted briefly, and she was just as she was in this video clip. All smiles, big black hair, red lipstick and nails... and major jewelry! About a week later, while walking through the lower level of store, I heard her call out my name from the Cafe?! Was amazed that she remembered MY name! We chatted again, about the store, and how she loved to shop. 😀 I miss Joan and Ann... was upset when each of them passed, as I had the brief encounters with both! Great memories! 🤗

Ann Miller is so evocative of OLD Hollywood and glamor but so direct and vibrant. Talking about working hard and making money at 61 years old and looking like a million bucks in that sequin pantsuit.....she's being herself and that self is pretty fabulous! To lose a 30 carat diamond ring - mon dieu!! Mr. Mayer never had her on the casting couch - he wanted to marry her. Joan Rivers was the warmest, wittiest and wisest television hostess. She got caught up in her nerves and her words and jokes sometimes - but the true appreciation and fun she had with her guests is always so graceful to watch. Joan was a great audience. She wanted her guests to succeed. No problem with Ann Miller in the least "prestigious" spot. Sondheim famously cried when he watched Ann Miller rehearse I'm Still Here. The PaperMill Playhouse. She certainly wasn't the best singer or greatest star to perform that song in Follies - but he said that SHE was the one who was most like what every word of that song and character was meant to be. He had no notes to give her.

Bobby Haas honestly it was pretty common for people to smoke on television back then. IIRC, Ann Miller was also a smoker. Ann Miller was an amazing lady. I didn't discover her until a few years ago. Too bad, if I'd heard of her when I was a child I might have kept up with my tap dancing lessons.
