Your love interest isn’t gonna say Wow, you murdered someone I love, you must love me more and therefore you’re better… ok? That’ll help prevent a few of these situations from happening. All very disturbing stories about evil , calculating women but the one I am very familiar with is the Stephanie Lazarus case. I 've watched many of her docos on KZbin, her interrogation by the detectives is mind-blowing. She was a cop who really did believe she was above the law and could outsmart any detective, very scary. This doco doesn't mention that after Sherry was murdered, the husband still bonked Stephanie for a while until she eventually married another guy.

You're probably forgetting that other law enforcement officials were not privy to the goings on in Stephanie's personal life. Why would a seasoned detective tell her fellow police officers that she had a friends-with-benefits relationship with the deceased's husband? Probably to avoid that very thing. I have some serious doubts that he ever fully broke up that relationship after getting married. According to this episode, they sort of just "fizzled out" after his wife was already dead. It seems they were still on "friendly" terms, even after Stephanie entered the house illegally and threatened his wife. You don't stay friends with someone who does that unless you're interested in receiving some "benefits". Maybe this gave the murderer a false hope that if only the wife was out of the picture, they could be together. I don't know for sure, this is the first time I hear about this case, just speculating, because what you said seems like a normal course of action anyone with clean conscience would have taken instead.

I don’t think people realize how much pathology is out there primarily because if you’re a decent person you expect others to share the same quality. My crazy pants “mother” who was a monster stalked me for decades after I severed ties with her completely. I just let that person be happy because there is no way, to change the person's mind. Can't force them to love us back. I was in that situation and it very was painful. My soul felt as if it left me. I have to rebuild my strength. It hurts till to this day but the story like this first one is reminded me of, I know I am better than doing any of this; as it is not worth of killing over. If it's meant to be then it's meant to be but am happy for her that she eventually moved on and found someone. Just too bad that it does not write-off her wrongs for committing that crime.
