Annie was a long time friend (and family member) and this is a wonderful tribute to her. She was amazing. (She was basically my aunt, my mentor.) I'm going to share this with the family.

I am so thrilled you enjoyed it and I hope the family enjoys it as well! Wishing you and the family much love and that you are doing well during this time. 💕

I truly envy you. I would have given 10 years off my life just to meet her so I could thank her for the beauty she brought into my life. Her talent was phenomenal, and she and Gwen Verdon did so much to keep Fosse's work alive and in the public eye. I took dance. I was never good because I lack talent, but I had a passion for it and still do. Just taking class taught me how difficult even the smallest move can be, and she makes even the most difficult steps look effortless.

Hey .. I’ve been going thru a life crash recently, everything in my life has imploded! Funnily enough in the middle of this I got a gig, I’m a cellist, doing some music theatre and after the shows this week I was winding down by watching All that Jazz.. I was transfixed by Ann and her dancing, I watched her and I swear some healing energy and vitality came to me after watching her move... the closest I’ve seen a dancer become like music, beyond words ... I sent Ann a cosmic thank you through the ether and had a fabulous last show yesterday, nailed every note in the cello part...

@@Emma_Rose_Brooks You notice I'm still upset about that Oscar loss, and that was 42 years ago! 😂 But that's how beautiful I think this film is. The dance is magnificent of course. But so is the art direction. I love how the surreal portions are either soft or bright, but the "real" portions are sharp and usually a little dark with rain often a feature. I also think Roy Scheider is amazing considering he wasn't a dancer. His background in yoga helped a lot. And Reinking . . wow. If I had her legs and half of her talent and she had $7 billion, we would both be happy! 😂

She has always been a hero of mine. Chicago came to the Shubert in Boston, where I was working front of house, and Sandy Duncan was supposed to be playing Roxie. Sandy was injured, and they needed a big name to replace her. In comes Ann. I would sit in the back when they would have rehearsals prior to the show, and watch her teach. She was so, so, so very nice. Years later, I saw her and Ben Vereeniging in Fosse, and I held my breath the entire time. They were such a joy to watch together. Thanks for this video. She is so very missed.

Yes - she was great as Grace in “Annie.” Frankly without her and Carol Burnett… well, let’s just say they carried that movie. And as mentioned here (3:50 mark) they added an entire scene “We Got Annie” …. Because how could you have Ann Reinking in your film without giving the public an opportunity to see this mega talent dance. It was choreographed more like an old-fashioned MGM musical and it was nice to see her dance in that style. If you go back and watch the scenes where she shares screen time with Aileen Quinn (Annie) … (especially in the scene where they are getting ready to go to the movies) you can see Aileen Quinn stare into Ann Reinking’s eyes with wonder. She was mesmerized by Ann Reinking, (you can tell)

She and Gwen were my all time favorites. However, Ann truly stuck out in my mind as here she was a huge star and she was happy dancing in the chorus of Dancin’. What made it so extraordinary is the fact that she did absolutely nothing to pull your eyes toward her. If you didn’t know she was in it, you would just enjoy the show. Most stars would have a difficult time NOT showing off their prowess. What A magnificent, brilliant flame has been lost to the darkness. Her light will forever burn in our hearts.

This was so interesting! I love it. Thanks for sharing with us. I could understand if she said that Bob Fosse had more positive things about him to share. I bet he did! Having Epilepsy is certainly not something that makes anyone happy. It's a struggle to stay positive. I mean, how many people even use the word? It's almost as if some think we're cursed or something. *Laughs* Many times, the world often only tends to dwell on the sadness. As she said though, there are soooo many happy moments as well. Moments people don't get to witness if they only dwell on the sadness. The show must go on, which is one of the great things about theatre, it helps you to see that fact. I love theatre and I love to watch dancing! Something facinates me about dancing. Maybe it's because I REALLY couldn't dance to save my life. Who knows!?! All in all, I think her connection with Bob Fosse was something that was meant to be. I hate to get too Spiritual but there is a Scientifically proven Spiritual aspect to having Epilepsy. Certain areas of the brain open up the understanding of Spirituality. That's probably why some fear us. When in reality, there is nothing to fear. We're just people, like everyone else. Either way, what talents Ann and Fosse were! What amazing, beautiful, strong talents! Their beauty, etc. will no doubt never be forgotten!
