I love this book so much. Every time I listen I hear a new point or perspective, perhaps because I’m at different stages in life each time I listen. Each time it is just as profound and relevant and new. I’m so grateful for these audiobooks, thank you.
Corance Chandler it was no trouble, hope you enjoy the book as much as I did! :)

Kitty and Levin's part drove me to happy tears, Anna's personality disorder broke my heart :(
@VeryHeavyToastedButNotCharred2 жыл бұрын
I think Anna has something called hexasomethingsomething disorder, and she's also terribly narcissistic as well. The beautiful Anna you see in the early chapter was just kind of a mask of perfection she wore, something for others to see and like. The real Anna is really clingy and every little thing is connected to her. Like....if you walk out the door, she thinks you're cheating on her with some other woman. It's weird and this is getting long. This is just my interpretation, so it's not very canon or serious. lol -Love from 6am audiobook binging.

@@VeryHeavyToastedButNotCharred Also, was she like this all her life? I would like to hear more about her previous ventures when she was much younger. Sometimes bipolar disorder kicks up when the person is pressured, and barely seen before. Like schizoprhrenia. She is mentally sick, that's why she behaves this way
@VeryHeavyToastedButNotCharred2 жыл бұрын
@@naheenisapoet69 Yeah I think she was like this always. I don’t think her first husband never really gave her the chance to act up. She’s also pretty much a Karen. It’s even in her name. And yeah, your explanation explains stuff much better. Schizophrenia sums up her situation, and examples of this is shown throughout her, even in her dreams. I think Anna and Vronsky’s relationship is a very complicated dead end.
@naheenisapoet692 жыл бұрын
@@VeryHeavyToastedButNotCharred Well, I don't think she is evil or horrible or even a Karen. She didn't love her husband. She wanted something more than luxury. She wanted Vro, but too bad her mental disorder started engulfing her when everyone around started hating on her. Vronsky never had to go through the consequences even though he was the one who tempted her to be his lover. If you think of it clearly, she did say no at first. But love is hard to resist, especially when it's forbidden. If Vronsky cared about the woman he loved, he should have let her go and let her not be defamed in the entire world. She got paranoid is not exactly impractical because everyone she loved started hating on her. She couldn't be around anyone anymore. And then she was even slightly codependent, which is not her fault either. And codependence can be scary with its intensity when you love someone. This novel is a depiction of the reality of what women have had to go through because of the inability of women to get emancipated while facing double standards.

@@VeryHeavyToastedButNotCharred What signs of schizophrenia is she demonstrated? I'm curious because I know a few people with this diagnosis. What is a "Karen"? Her husband seems like a good man and I feel sorry for him. It seems she warned him before marriage that she was wicked. When someone makes a comment like that while dating it should be taken seriously and relations broken off. Dolly seemed very inconsiderate to me with trying to get favour for Anna at Karenin's expense, not considering his needs, feelings or position. I do see the point of "the fling will end and you will preserve your family" but Anna said she cannot change, and she is not repentant. Maybe Karenin can start a new family and live a happy rest of his life. Good lesson about attraction though - it fades over time, so not worth blowing up your family over it, and a proven cheater is more likely to cheat on you hence the insecurity.
