I don't know about everyone else but I, personally, don't think having a tons of friends is important. I'm 30 now and I've learned the friends that come and go aren't your real friends to begin with. They're more like temporary people you hang out with until you move on to better and more interesting people. I say this because I had "friends" who became close with, know them very well for years but when they move or we don't have that typical circle of friends anymore, they abandon you. People who are willing to keep in contact with you, after they move or you move, are your real friends. People who calls you to see you are real friends. People who are willing to travel to your side of town are your real friends.

No. The people who are your real friends are the ones you are still friends with - even though you haven't seen each other in decades. Our lives take us here and there and we lose contact with people - but that doesn't mean we aren't still friends. Yes - someone making an effort to see you even if it's difficult - is an act of friendship - but just because life has separated you from someone - possibly permanently - doesn't mean you aren't still friends. .
