This is just an amazing song. I just love songs that tell a story and behind this song is a great story. Lyrics are superb. And i had not heard of Dave Ferguson before but what a voice for this song. His voice even sounds "salty". Just a great love song and in a sense of desperation & hope (just imagine the treasures i'll bring). And what a great line "come lay with me -stray with me" and with the seducing sounds of a piano accordian - swirling in the background like the undercurrents of the sea

It's true, they have rather conflicting voices, but I think that's what makes the song unique and pleasing to the ear. While they don't compliment each other in the traditional way, to name an example, like RyanDan, they do balance each other out and make each voice uniquely different but equally pleasing. This is all opinion based however, I simply wanted to toss my thoughts in.

Josh Turner just does it differently. If you prefer a commercial electric "Country" sound, then Josh Turner's version is for you, but if you want something that is closer to old time real country acoustic roots music then you can't get much closer than Anna and Dave on a real porch in a real country setting.
