It’s so sad how just simply getting dressed is a lost art in today’s society. You either look baggy or have barely any clothes at all. I like to dress up and look elegant and presentable and people always say “Who are you trying to impress?” Smh. I simply just want to look feminine and nice for myself and to have curtesy and respect for the people around me. Thank you for making the videos you do, and being a refreshment in today’s society. Continuez 💋

I literally get stopped by people because I dress up, I had a neighbor stop me and ask me why I always dress so fancy. I was even stopped while walking home and asked where I was going with "all that makeup". It's sad that it is now rare to see people have pride in the way they present themselves and care about how they look. I never step out the house without my heels and makeup.

👏🏾👏🏾 well said. I must note I have seen women who wear oversized clothes but still make it look elegant and feminine. Think of how the olsen twins dress for events like the CFDA fashion awards. I see that they like to wear loose, modest clothing yet always elegant.

Make sure it’s a good skirt that looks nice on you though. If it doesn’t fit quite right, it will look sloppy.

I love that you talk about investing in clothing. I'm 21 years old and people my age prefer buying a lot of trendy pieces at H&M. Investing in pieces that will last years is way better and you actually save money. I prefer spending 100 euros on a long coat or a pair of boots than on tacky cheap clothes. Sometimes I feel like an outcast because I dress very differently than other people my age, but then I come to watch your videos and think "I'm being me, I love being elegant and classy regardless of my age"

Try a different pattern in the scarf, like a pattern similar to a classic Hermes, Chanel, or other high-end brand, and don't use it ascot-style. I have at least 100 scarves, and not only has no one made such a remark to me, I've had other women ask me for advice on how to wear scarves. For my first scarves, I bought silk twill scarves with hand-rolled hems from Tie Silks and major stores like Neiman Marcus, Talbots, etc. Then I discovered ebay; there are sellers who offer absolutely gorgeous scarves in silk twill, with hand-rolled hems, in patterns resembling those of high-end brands, but at $20 to $50 each instead of hundreds. I have actual Hermes scarves, so I've been able to compare quality, and the Chinese silk twill scarves are awesome. Why not? Most of the name brands are made in Chinese factories, too. Just make sure that the seller has a high positive feedback rating and that they're selling real silk. Some underhanded sellers put silk in the title, but the scarves aren't silk at all.

I totally agree about investing in your clothing items. I’m on a minimalist kick lately and started by completely purging my wardrobe. I got rid of everything that was of cheap quality, looked cheap, didn’t make me feel good, etc. Then I made a list of staple clothing items that I need. Now I am very intentional with the clothing purchases I make: I think very carefully about all purchases, and I make sure the pieces are of high quality, are made well, and are sure to last/look good and make me feel great for a long time. No more shopping on a whim. I’m not all about brand names, and am not a big spender by nature, but I definitely agree that spending say twice as much on a nice quality jacket for example, is so worth it in the end. I feel so much happier and lighter since I started making this change, and I know I look a lot more put together too :)

Being a horse rider and a golfer, my style is pretty sleek and classic. I went to graduate school in the US at an Ivy League institution, and I assumed that my classmates would be used to being presentable. Thank you for the useful tips Anna! I have learned a lot of things from you!❤️❤️❤️ I really love silk scarves and boat necks too! In the summer I will hopefully start my first job on my major so I will make my own money and I will be able to spend an amount of it on some high quality pieces of clothing (saving is my first priority of course!!!😂).

THE ORIGINAL CREATOR OF THE 50/50 video made Anna Delete her take on it! 😕 Talk about Women empowerment... Can’t blame the original creator after all, Anna’s take was far more better than the original... Got this information based on Anna’s Recent Instagram Story!

Anna I love watching your videos and I normally watch them before I go in to work and sometimes forget to tell you how much I enjoy your attitude is so cheerful and pleasant but always staying elegant and classy. Your vocabulary is admirable. I see that you always try to better yourself. (Even though you don’t have to) I love wearing hats everyone that sees me in a hat tells me I look amazing because it is different than everyone else, and also the fabric I wear, nice fabric always catches the eye!

A few seasons ago , I shelled out for a Moncler-Grenoble puffer jacket...and lemme tell u, I think it was the wisest winter apparel purchase I’ve ever made! It’s casual, yet looks anything but cheap! It’s relaxed and comfortable, but I still feel elegant when wearing it. Great advise, Anna..as always! 😘 Also, please do a scarf-tying video!! I’d appreciate tips !

I don't buy heels above 8 cm anymore. 6-7 cm is a good height for me that's still comfortable. That was the biggest change for me. Note: it depends on your shoe size! If you have tiny feet maybe even 5 cm is your maximum because the shoe size changes the angle of the foot, too. I also read that a good quality shoe should be balanced, literally. If you put the shoe on the ground and poke it, it shouldn't wiggle for too long. If it does the sole isn't even and you will have a hard time walking in them. Look for this detail regardless of the price of the shoes, I also had uneven 250 € shoes before and it depends on the particular pair sometimes, ask if they have another pair in your size and it might be a lot better. By the way I recently bought Michael Kors pumps and was surprised by the comfort.

Very good points. I grew up at a time when ladies wore gloves with many of their outfits. I couldn't wait to grow up to wear gloves too, but that elegant fashion look quickly disappeared in the 1960s/70s as the young hippie generation quickly did away with all elegance and fine grooming and embraced the “grunge” look. In its place came frayed jeans, long messy hair, loose (or very tight) bohemian clothes, and beach sandals. Decades later we still see its powerful influence in the pervasive casual look which now includes ripped clothes, grotesque tattoos, pyjama-like clothes, and sexually provocative attire, to name just a few! It will take a lot of courage and determination from those of us who wish to turn the tide. It can be done. Thank you for your encourage, enthusiasm, and great videos!

I typically only wear my hats to church but always get compliments on them. They are expensive and sometimes hard to find in department stores, but i have scored some beautiful hats in antique stores. Remember you can gloves without a hat, but no hat without gloves.

I so love your philosophy. I am married, will probably live where I do for the rest of my life. How you describe an elegant lady shows that it makes a tremendous difference in how one feels about oneself. Even when you are gardening! Care for yourself, your home, your clothing, and as you said, your grooming. It makes all the difference in how you feel and how others perceive you.

Anna is great. I am an athlete tomboy who won't wear heels. (I'm 50 with ankle injuries, bursitis, tendonitis, etc - studied gymnastics/dance for the first 30 years of my life). I started wearing hats and scarves as a teenager because I look like a jock without them. And grooming is key. Great video! ...I am also short so even though heels are out, the tip about monochrome pants and shoes works for lengthening the body (which is more elegant as well? I never thought of it that way )

I love this video! I live in Napoli and women here are so chic and glamorous at all ages! Women do not go out without their hair and makeup done, and the men are all in tailored shirts, from traditional local tailors who don't even charge that much, elegant clothes are accessible to all. And it's true that grooming is so important, clean teeth, hands, hair and shoes! I love that here elegance and femininity is still celebrated ❤️

Dressing well is an art form that is virtually non-existent today. Its a shame. Slovenly appearance is the norm and you can't say anything about it because you'll be accused of shamming. I loved how Anna said to put in the effort. That's what it takes. Pride in yourself ladies. Let us all bring back to normalcy. Thank You Anna♥

Oh yes - I completely agree. I dressed up for work one day and people continue to keep asking me if I was on an interview or had a big meeting and one person commented - “I could never do that..” 🙄

@@Musicjunkie33912 I have had a similar experience. I never understood it. I had a coworker say I think I'm better than the rest of the team and I must be trying to get in good with management. I was floored. I didn't let that stop me I keep growing, yearning and learning. Everyone can do them, I'm doing me😊😉
@kidaria13334 жыл бұрын
Nah, it still existent just in another way. Lots of alternativ and casual outfits today are well-thought-out. It is just an aesthetic people with other style perefrences do not get. Also even back in the day in everyday life normal people weren't very fashionable and chic in the week. Proper chic cloth had been worn on the weekend especially on sunday. Only rich posh people dressed up chic constantly. Some people get strong feelings from the way they dress some do not and the whole fashion circus just bothers them. However it is always healthier taking pride form inner factors like character behavior,...etc. as too much from outer factors. But because humans always react to both.

Dear Anna ❤️, Would you still recommend point #2 for us short girls? If so, how can short girls pull it off? Tailoring? Please help 🙏🏼 Love, Carolina
@edennis32024 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the question. Long trousers worn with color-matched high-heeled shoes make a short woman look much taller, and very elegant besides. I'm 5'2" and it's one of my favorite tricks.
@therebelpreneur18394 жыл бұрын
E Dennis Hi, she recommended the trousers.. but personally, sometimes i feel like its tricky to pull off long trousers or long skirts. So my question was pertaining to that and what would she recommend for people like me who are 5’0” or shorter and want to rock the elongated look without it looking awkward. Hope that clarifies it. :)
@smritichawla91814 жыл бұрын
Anna forgets to say that trousers (pants) need to be hemmed in a bit so it doesn't sweep the floor, especially for vertically challenged ladies. It doesn't matter whether you wear heels or not. Mom and I always get our jean and trouser hems taken in just a bit along with the waist too. a bit of tailoring, especially in jeans, goes a long wear in elongating and elevating your physique.
@LadyNajaGirl4 жыл бұрын
truly caro Definitely have them taken in/hemmed. Some stores like Dior will actually provide this service free of charge. I bought a dress recently that fitted great up top but looked like a sack from the hips down so I will get the dress shortened because I still love it but stores often don’t cater for all shapes 💞
