I wish there was a lot more info - the 'cave' looks more like a mine - what was being mined? What were all the boats fishing for???? Lobsters?
@annafilmproduction1143 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The cave was mined for a stone material called Izu-ishi. This stone was valued for its softness, ease of processing and excellent fire resistance, and was produced and shipped from various parts of Izu until the beginning of the Showa era (1926-1989). Muroiwa-do was a quarry that operated from the Edo period until 1954.A variety of seafood can be caught in Matsuzaki Town.

Спасибо за прекрасную прогулку по городу! А что добывали в этих пещерах?
@jamesroseby3823 Жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same thing. 👍
@annafilmproduction1143 Жыл бұрын

Thank you for always watching my video. I wish you the best of luck on your Kyoto trip😊 Izu-ishi was mined in this cave. Izu-ishi is a stone material derived from volcanic rocks produced in the Izu region of Shizuoka Prefecture. It was mainly used as a construction material from the early modern period to the first half of the modern era.
