当時8歳。 テレビ塔、中村百貨店(今の三越)が完成した直後の映像ですね。 懐かしいです。 住友銀行栄町支店の文字も覚えています。 毎日のように親父にくっついて行っていました。 途中に出てくる自転車に乗っている子供と自分がダブります。

As always I am left with a sense of wonder and awe after these videos. I keep harping on about this, but the contrast between the deep, rich browns of the wood and the white-plastered and -painted walls is always so pleasant to look at. There are several standout shots in this, like the absolutely phenomenal castle standing by itself where it looked almost unreal, or the reveal of the waterfall behind the shrine. Absolutely wonderful. The big twisted ropes hanging over the gables are also fantastic to look at. I have been told they represent a kind of threshold between the normal world and the spirit world, is that correct? I also really liked the fine carpentry details on the wooden, western-style house (Kounkaku?). It looked like Swiss chalet style houses. A lot of craftsmanship and attention to details went into that. A minor thing I noticed was the wheelchair-accessible ramp to enter Izumo Taisha shrine, just before the tori(?) gate. I thought that was a nice detail. :)

As always you show us such beautiful places! And this was especially gorgeous. I can imagine this place in the summer is even prettier. This one goes up on my list of places to visit. I love small towns like this and would love to spend time here, much time! ❤ Thank you for your time and work! This is always a great time to relax here.
