Excerpts from the books “Living by Bhagavan’s Words” and “Final Conversations” by Annamalai Swami. Annamalai Swami (1906 - 1995) was a master of Advaita Vedanta and a direct disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi. In 1938, after ten years of work and devotion, Sri Ramana asked Annamalai Swami to leave the Ashram and dedicate himself exclusively to solitary meditation at Atma Vichara. He then moved to a nearby house, where he practiced self-inquiry for decades and eventually, through devoted service to Bhagavan and rigorous practice of sādhana, attained Self-Realization. His teachings in simple language became valuable advice for seekers, as his direct experience gave him practical knowledge on how to achieve success in Self-Realization through self-inquiry.
