I toured the Naval Academy in 2001 while stationed on USS Wasp LHD 1 2000-03. Ship sailed up the Chesapeake Bay from Norfolk Naval Base.

1:45 “Coming from a civilian life to a military life is ALWAYS a difficult transition.” As a 1986 graduate of USNA, I would have to say that this statement is def true…in hind sight only. One of the challenges in adjusting was that no one had any idea going in how difficult it would be. I remember discussing this point with fellow inductees of my class the night before I-Day. But adjusting was a big factor that I would say lasted the entire plebe year and some of the next year. We each had to pull together as a class and find our own way to acclimate. You find out right away that you can’t be an island. Those folks bilged out quickly.

6:00 Man I'd have a GOOD time if they played music like this during training! Dancing is a great way to keep energized and really pumps up morale too!

It was, in 1972. That's what we were working with, in high school Computer Science, back then. when a computer took up 2 rooms, and couldn't do 1/100th of what a cheap laptop can do today. Computer Science is very important. Recently, the Air Force set out to build the ultimate drone fighting computer, but didn't have the money to do it. A young Air Force genius gangbanged together 16 Sony PS5's, and gave the Air Force exactly what they wanted, saving millions upon millions. Remember, that 1976 was their graduation year, so this was from 1972.
