I met Anne at a running camp in Vermont in the 1990's. At the time she was the top pro runner in the world, having won more money than any other "pro" runner - males included. I don't know if the presence of John Parker had anything to do with the three of us having beers together most evenings. Besides being a wonderful and talented runner and a good beer drinker, she was a great person. I treasure those times and fortunately have photos with Anne and John to remind me!

Thanks for that Anne. I left Waiheke in 1962 to work in Auckland and departed to Australia in 68, so I just learnt plenty of things I had no idea about.
