9 years on and I wish I could see this! Tomboy Hathaway looks so cute. I recall seeing the version with Helen Hunt, Live from Lincoln Center, and still wish that was available too. But, at least there's the movie from 1996 with Imogen Stubbs. Great version.

This comment is nine months old, so I sincerely hope this reply isn't needed, but there's a great channel, Shakespeare Network, that has that full production of Twelfth Night Live From Lincoln Center with Helen Hunt, Paul Rudd, and Kyra Sedgwick. And I agree, Imogen Stubbs was an amazing Cesario. There's also a production of Othello with her as Desdemona on that channel. I hope you have found it since writing your comment. Happy watching ☺

Opinions on performances aside, if you are going to take issue with colourblind casting/alteration of context with Shakespeare then prepare to be disappointed because it happens in performances of the bard's works everywhere, including the globe and the royal Shakespeare company, and has been like that for decades. Also this is a play set in a fictional location with fictional characters so if you're going to be a traditionalist about casting then the all male production is out there on youtube, enjoy men playing women pretending to be men in love with other men. There are some great actors/performances in that one. Go watch some live theatre, don't let race or age get you down, it's theatre not film, realism is less important than truth through performance. Take a date or some friends to go see a comedic play, enjoy entertainment where the performers are actually effected by your presence, stay for a Q and A with cast and take the chance to ask them how they approached a role because that's the polite way to deal with disagreeing with casting choice and will actually get you answers about why it happened. Ask the people you took with you what they thought afterwards. Leave less comments on unaffiliated youtube uploads of shows that ran and closed a decade ago.
