So amazing to watch. I wish I was there standing on the side of the road watching the sheer beauty of those Friesians. Red on black is always stunning. Linda commented on Friesian Horses about having a look at this wonderful 10 in carriage, I came to watch straight away. I must say your training stables are a credit, I have followed Eefje and Frieda's training by you. I have now subscribed. I have learnt so much about the Friesians from Yvonne. What an amazing historical journey the Friesians have endured. I so love their beautiful gentle temperament and of course their stunning good looks and how they carry themselves.

Was very intrigued by this manoeuvre, so I looked it up on Google Earth, as cattle guards are extremely rare in the Netherlands. My guess is, that this cattle guard is right up to their own stables.

Love it. A demonstration of great skill and all the horses following are confident of their leaders and in step with their partner. Saves a lot of training time, doesn't it? Exercising them all at the same time!

Oh my, What complete magnificence; colour co-ordinated, cadence and even music to match to enhance. This level of training, matching of pairs and performance beautiful and rare. What a superb exhibition for the Friesian horse breed. Dressage in Harness !!

Not this kind, but I’ve seen Clydesdales pulling a wagon off reins and responding to quiet voice commands. I was shocked! I thought horses had to be tugged around, like in the movies! I love how they trot! It appears they enjoy this!

Anne Bell ...What happens is you put the strongest two on the pole, the best and boldest in the lead, and all the riff-raff in the middle, likely the pairs belong to different people. I'm in Australia, went to an old bush day out, Clydesdales everywhere, they harnessed up more than 20, the two on the pole, 3 leaders (his best in the centre) all 5 belonged to the man who drove the loaded wool wagon, all the rest were teams of 3 belonging to different people, but the man owning the polers and leaders, he had the lot under control. You get loafers all through a big team, never tighten their traces.

This driver has tremendous skill to be able to drive 10 horses at once. I struggle to drive one! I am curious how you would "talk" to the lead pair to direct them with all those lines in your hands. Maybe some day I will learn.

It's my experience that horses will follow each other. Its the lead horses that need the direction. New fangled cattle guard. I had to dismount, open gate, lead horse thru, close gate , remount and go on my merry way. My Grand Father went to Colorado in a covered wagon, I never got to ride in it let alone drive it. Chuckle chuckle . It was a tremendous fete and poetry in motion.

They are all whingeing about the music! I'm a horsewoman, and a musician, and had I been so lucky as to be on that carriage with my accordeon, they would have ALL been stepping in time to my music. Here, good music was added later, mostly in time to some of the horses, but you give a trotting horse a polka to fit, he'll stay with it. A whole team? Probably. Superb show of it anyway, with or without music.
