My mother (1933) is from Friesland and she used to tell that when she was a child, she loved to look at the farmers who went to church on sunday in their carriages with one or two frisien horses in front of the carriage. Must have been a beautiful sight.

Which makes her comments valid...B asically, if you cannot afford....or will not have enough time, to work hard, care for your horse( this is a big responsibility!!) Then do not buy a horse!! Rent for a few hours, go on trail ride, help out at stable, etc etc, but do not buy one, because the results of that loving impulse will -- down the road-- lead to grief, especially for your horse, that you loved and wanted So Much..... In regards to the "yard art", when my Dad was in his 90's, his one greatest treasure was to drive around with me and look at the horses in the pastures. His own father had been a blacksmith back in the day of the working horses and mules. Thank you to anyone who takes care of horses. I hope you know the joy it brings other people just to drive by, see them, and be reminded of younger days.

One of the most beautifull breeds😍 Frisian horses float as if they are as light as a feather😊 I’m from Holland and we have a lot Frisians. I follow the Frisian Horses stable on KZbin, did you rescue him from that stable? So sad and true, responsability does not stop, they get old and just like with other animals you have to think about what it costs, money wise and effort. All those animals that get dumped just breaks my heart. I took care of a horse that was’nt mine, the owner had mental problems so i did it without asking anything but to pay for the bills. She did pay eventually and it took me 4 months to get him back on healthy feet. The vet told me that i literally saved him from the butcher. Best feeling ever! You are my kind of person, big❣️for animals. I hope you can do this as long as you can, the world needs more of people like you😘

I discovered Freisians fairly recently and have fallen in love with their sheer beauty. The channel that I first found is a breeding stable and the dedication the mares have for their foals is amazing. Dear Lady, I so admire you for caring so deeply about their older years. As I watch the mares with foals channel, I often see one sold off. It may just be my silly, sentamental thoughts, but I sense the sadness in their eyes and demeanour when THEY KNOW that they are leaving the only home they have ever known. Their whinny when the trailor door closes breaks my heart. I am soooo thankful your channel popped up to find such a kindred spirit to love these beauties. I do not have a place for horses and have never owned one but I know love when I see it and they are love in a precious way. Going to subscribe.

He is stunning, an original heavy type Friesian the more heavy build and tall, nowadays they breed more elegance and sporty looking horses. But for me this old type Friesian is the most beautiful there is, light drafts with an enornous human willing nature, wanna work together and calm. Een buurmeisje heeft een Fries gehad omdat die meer ruimte had bij het huis, Geert was zijn naam. Ook een oud type. Met hele lange manen en een snor. Geweldig dier. Ma'am you have my total respect. The fact that you keep your horses into retirement instead of selling them speaks volumes about your character. Most folks sell them with the quickness with no concern about what happens to them. And to have a 35 year old horse!
