I've always loved vampires, ever since I was a kid... and Anne Rice summed it up very well. It was the perfect metaphor for feeling such an outsider everytime when I was growing up.

Geez! All these years on Facebook and You Tube and I had no idea Ann Rice in both these mediums. My absolute favorite author. I did not know she lost her daughter and the child was 5; of course I wonder if this is Claudia. I know Claudia must still exist in another realm. I have looked for further mention if Claudia but found only a brief mention in a different novel. Love all her books. A true artist of words. Such deep philosophical journeying. Of course in love with the vampire series but also bioks lije Feast of All Saints, and Cry to Heaven, just magnigicent.

Mystical Catnip I'd like to say that I'm more like Lestat, but to be brutally honest, the vampire that has the most aligning qualities with me would be Mekare. She and I both have a flare for dramatic, big ass mouth, and Vindictive as all bloody hell.

I thought to myself what 2 animals could portray the illusion that they could walk on water as Jesus does? Only birds or reptiles can do this, as both have webbed feet. I concluded that if you blend the image of a bird and a reptile you would get Kukulkan the feathered serpent, Ra in ancient Egypt or the dragon, the leviathan and that the imagery of Jesus walking on water portrays this idea of over coming our dragon nature and perhaps this idea seeps into stories of vampires. Rising above our animal nature.

OMG, if you can write about child sex, then you are not of God. If it is ok to be able to write about children being used in sex practices and you have no disgust for it, then you need salvation. I don't know anything about her or her books, just only reading what I have seen here. I think your reply is very important because I would never read any of her books knowing that child sex is something she is obviously comfortable with.

@@lynnbbarton54 I guess its because of the time period she writes her characters are mostly set in times were kids under 18 were seen as adults. But she writes the scenes like we as the readers are supposed to enjoy reading about kids and adults having sex with each other. I couldn't read anymore. She needs to work on her relationship with God more
