Thank you so much for your lovely comment!! You do not need a boat license to hire the boat! And the cost depends on how many people you are (maximum of 6 people) and how long you take it out (30 minutes or 1 hour). I believe that for 5 people for half an hour it was about 50 euros.

We didn't stay overnight in Annecy. We stayed at an airbnb in Chamonix and drove to Annecy for the day :)
