Anneke sings with Amorphis in song called Amongst Stars, and there is official video. I think that Anneke and Esa who is lead guitarist of Amorphis have met on tours. Both are very down to earth people, so I think that's why they made friends.

Annie rocks . This is a very different interpretation of this song that I've not heard before (and I thought I had all of her work). Hear her also in Vuur, Gentle Storm, Various Ayreon songs, and her solo stuff and many many collaborations , most noted with Devin Townsand.

Saw her live several times, but the most memorable is when she sang in a student dorm. She was telling stories and sang solo with her guitar. (STUKA fest is was called, from the word studentenkamer) I signed in for another performer and then I got a call: Do you mind if we change it into Anneke van Giersbergen? What nooo, I don't mind. I made my brother so jealous with the picture of her and me.

Check TG25 'Travel', 'Waking Hour' or 'On Most Surfaces', DTP By a Thread 'Numbered', DTP Retinal Circus 'Grace', Ayreon 'Isis & Osiris', Gentle Storm 'The Storm', and this list could go on for ages with excellent signature performances of the most unique vocalist in Dutch Metal/prog history. And The Gathering may just be the most influential, and best, Dutch band ever without many Dutchmen even really knowing them ... Enjoy any further exploration of this musical and vocal rabbit hole!

I've seen her twice, just Anneke and her guitar. It was magical both times! 💜 Bought some albums, but never listen to them, cuz they don't do her justice at all. I don't know how they managed to kill all life in her voice in the production, but they did 😕If she shows up for a gig near here, I'm first in line!

Seen her live twice, once by herself and once as warm up for Anathema. She's a gem! You can't help but fall in love with her voice. Sadly her studio albums don't do her justice at all. They produced them to death and the magic is gone. If you ever get a chance to see her live, go for it!

I saw her live with her band The Gathering. It was a free of charge performance outside in the city more than 20 years ago and I was surprised so few people showed up. Must've been the Dutch weather. I thought it was awesome though! They were rocking their ass off. Not small and intimate like this. I can have nothing but respect for an artist that still fully goes for it even though there aren't that many people.

I've seen her three times. First time with The Gathering, 2002. Their breakthrough song was Strange Machines but my most fav song is Travel. Anneke adores Mozart and brings honour to him in Travel. ❤️ I saw her with Agua de Annique in Amsterdam and during a livingroomconcert and.she is the sweetest! Beautiful soul. She also had a band VUUR, I really suggest Days go by live. What a powerhouse! Anneke really is a major influence when it comes to female rock and metal singers. I really love her singing, either with The Gathering, Ayreon, Amorphis and all her own bands and appearances. I saw her live in 2002 in Lille with The Gathering. That's where a giant jumping dutchie totally crushed my foot in the front row. I hope you can get to do some AMORPHIS if you did not already.
