Note: One of Anneke's many collaborations with other artists, this time with Danny Cavanagh (Anathema) covering this beautiful song by Damien Rice. Anneke and Danny did some tours together in 2009 and 2010, they even released a live acoustic album (In Parallel) with songs by The Gathering, Anneke, Anathema, Fleetwood Mac (Songbird and Big Love), Dolly Parton (Jolene), Massive Attack (Teardrop) and this one from the video, but from a different concert. Sometimes you see great artists make these journeys to their boundaries. This sweet way of singing is the opposite of their impressive symphonic metal performances. In that variety, that ability to adapt to any terrain, is when they demonstrate their height. Great Anneke.

Like Floor she delivers emotions by the tons by means of subtlelity. Like that ending in a whisper. I recognize that somewhat nasal sound. But I love it. It's her trademark. And you're right. Her vocal control is fantastic. Nothing happens by accident. And to top it off she is gorgeous to look at. Marilyn Monroe, but even more beautiful.

That is a beautiful rendition by Anneke. Unlike some of her songs she has clean vocals. Sometimes I find her nasal but will forgive any sins as she introduced Floor to metal singing.
