MORE ABOUT ME
I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable."
I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.
8 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.
My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.
Whether it's carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support - whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

My first impression of you was that you were a bad ass superwoman! But now, I think you are a genuine bad ass superwoman. Your playfulness and openness is rare to find on KZbin-even in the real world. Seeing you struggle through your hand injury gave me hope that I can still find purpose while navigating my new life with a disability. Thank you ❤

We must all remember that one of the the most important abilities is availability. Being physically available, 'showing up' for your animals & your loved ones. Emotional availability 'attending' to the emotional well being of your loved ones and just as importantly, yourself.

Come on……. You have to be learning SOMETHING from the chickens!! Two days ago, I walked into the coop to find a baby chick cold and lifeless. I picked it up, immediately, started praying and asking God to spare this life. Today she is walking around full of life!! These last two days, this little chick has taught me how precious life is!

Hello Anne, I’m an almost 72 yr old woman, who in the last 4 years has been teaching herself to grow food. I love to cook so have always had pots of herbs and edible flowers growing in and out. But as I live on my pension, and food prices being what they are, I’m trying to grow enough food to at least last through our growing season. I just discovered your channel and am blown away by you. I wish I had discovered this passion earlier, (I too love animals, and am loving learning about gardening) and would definitely have been a homesteader. Thank you so much for all that you share with us, about your life and what you have learned. You clearly are a remarkable woman. ❤

Annie, you show up and have shown up when the going has been tough. You have been challenged and you have not given up. Sometimes things have been hard and difficult but you are here now inspiring so many people. You are energetic, charismatic and positive, hence you allow your viewers to see you in a vulnerable state. Your foundation is strong and you bless us with your heart-felt tears of genuine love. Blessings to you and Adam.

You're a classic giver. You needed those animals/others/future children. It's easy to forget our needs. Givers show up for others and put others needs before ourselves. Don't forget to love and care for you as well. If your cup is empty, you can't give to others and it will burn you out. Don't ask how I know, but I'm sure every momma or animal momma out there can agree. Love your vulnerability ❤❤❤

Hi! If I were a nearby friend, I'd plant a little something in a bag balm jar and gift you- do this! I recently heard someone say that if you're willing to claw through and feel the hard feelings deeply, then you get the benefit of also feeling the beautiful things "on 11" and I just love that because I also feel sooo hard 💕 (it was Jess from Roots and Refuge) I love this video and I love animals so much for their wisdom. I'm posting on an older video that came up for me- saw your raw emotion about the recent loss and I just want you to know that I have so many prayers for you and your future family. And thank you so much for teaching us! I will always be excited to see your videos! ❤

Nothing happen unless we make it happen. Determination when required, rest when we need it, patience when we make a mistake, time to observe different ways of doing and its results, freedom to learn and the common sense to share with those who also want to learn. To be able to shed a tear is an important part of life as we let go and create space for new experiences.

Anne , Animals teach us so much ! One thing is " How To Be" If it not for Animals I would not be the person I am today , in fact I may not BE at all. The unconditional love of a dog , the connection to the wild of a horse , the wondering contentment and time disipline of a chicken , the socialness of a goose and the fun loving tomfoolery of a goat and I'm sure I'm leaving some out (ADD head) have all inspired my life and made me able to understand how humans ( that never made any damb sense to me , at all) operate . Most importantly they mirror you and that helps you learn who you are . ie; Horse therapy . very valuable. Thanks for your channel , I thoroughly enjoy it.

I lived in the city raising 3 children for 24 yrs I recently moved to the county starting a small hobby farm I've never been happier in my whole life. I loved this video so much. Thank you and God Bless you. I wasn't going to mention this. But in 2018, I was on my Harley Davidson half mile from my camper. I hit a deer going 50 mph with four vehicles behind me. The speed limit was 55mph the first vehicle was a nurse who stoped to help me she knew right away I had a punckcherd lung by the way I was breathing ,I also had 13 multiple fractured ribs fractured clavicle and scapular. I honestly should have died. Recovery was long and all I could think about was a small hobby farm with a couple horses ducks barn cats and of course my trusting 5 Labradors. My life feels so whole and humbled. I thank you for your channel. My animals help me so much with my depression and pain.

Full disclosure: I was crying before you. Having difficulty making phone calls or scheduling appointments? *raises hand*. Needing a therapist? *climbs on chair, waving and calling attention to himself*. No idea if my benefits will work with Better Help (being in Canada) but I will check it out. Hurtful words from people we admire? I was told that one of the reasons I kept being cast aside by individuals and groups was that I, "challenge people to be friends with me". I wish I really knew what this person meant by this but she is dead. This crap lives rent-free in head. I hate it and it is getting worse. Thank you, Anne, for this video in particular. It helps me feel connected during a not so great time.

I am so grateful for them and I don’t even have eggs yet! I suppose it depends on each individual person’s experience and the lessons they may need to learn. There are certain things in life that look so easy, routine and simple to one person, but can be like climbing a daily mountain for another, just because of how we are wired differently. Acceptance is the key to this... you have to accept that it is a part of you, acknowledge it and love yourself regardless, but you have to refuse to accept that it will control your life and stop you from doing the things you truly love and reaching the goals you aim for. In emptying that tin you have done that, and that's why you rock!!

Animals will teach you about YOU. Spend time with them and allow them to spend time with you. You will learn so much about life and yourself than just about anywhere else. They can't speak in YOUR language but they can understand you in so many ways you have never considered. Learn them and you will always have a friend and comforter - no matter what the animal INCLUDING chickens. I had a pet chicken that i raised in the house and it would eat from my hand or lips and sit and talk in its own way. It would know when I was sad or happy or in a bad mood or whatever and took whatever action it considered was best for the moment. Granted chickens are NOT the best for making animal contact but a good pig or cow or dog or cat ... they all are great companions.

Wow thank you. I have mostly similar view of myself before I took on the responsibility of a Dutch Shepherd, easily 5x-10x more dog than I have ever had before. I often look back at the mighty effort that I have put into him over the last 4 years to make him the perfect house-dog, trekking dog and backpacking companion. Your video has caused me to wonder if terrific growth I have been experiencing in other areas of my life might have a lot to do with being there 100% every day for my dog. Thank you for sharing this insight.

Boo to that person for mistaking your range of interests for an insurmountable problem instead of seeing the vast potential in you. I'm proud of you for taking that lump of coal and turning it into a diamond. Or an empty udder balm tin. God bless you, Anne! Thank you for the inspiration!

Anne Your video's just keep getting better and better. I have been told similar things as you. Like jack of all trades Master of none. I keep my head high and over the year's most people need my input for their solution to their issue. I hope to meet you someday. I am here in Tn. The Blacksmith classes are of interest to me. Will you do more video's or Have classes.?

I love the story about what the animals taught you. That is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I think all our homesteaders feel the same way. God bless and have a great day.

Thank you for being real, raw and vulnerable. It’s never too early to cry in a video and I so appreciate you keeping those clips in your videos, to show your heart, your passion and your struggles. You are rare and it’s refreshing to see someone else who’s like me and cries when you don’t want to cry. I am looking forward to seeing and meeting you in June at the Homestead Conference!
