I tried cover crops too and I didn’t like them either. Other than like using mustard for a cover crop 😂

Sheep poop is also a cold manure/compost and can be put straight into your garden....like you say bunny poop is. Love you energetic way of presenting 'hardwork'/gardening to us. I LOVE gardening, just NOT in summer in Queensland Australia. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips to us.

What about deer poop? We get a lot of free deer poop delivery, straight from the source. It’s be great to not have to put it in the bin.

Wouldn’t planting the passion fruit in a container keep them from spreading?

Yes, in theory, but the issue is more with the extreme over abundance of fruit and each one of those little seeds turning into a new vine of it’s own ;)

Ouch. Painful mistakes make for unforgettable lessons, thats for sure. There are a lot of shady characters posing as contractors these days, and mostly the way the work flies in the Country they come from, but just wont cut it here where we actually have building codes and inspections.

Thank you for this wonderful video. I would love to have a goat, but after I watched your video I realized I was thinking of it like it was a Beagle that would follow me around. That wouldn't work.

I remember the chard clip. I am with you. Maybe it's like cilantro where some love it and some hate it. I grew what I thought was golden beets from saved seed this past summer. Well, it reverted to golden chard. Beautiful.....but no. For some reason it tastes too green for me and I can eat almost every veg on the planet. It borders on that very green algae smell. I use to keep growing it in hopes of getting use to it but I don't think it's going to happen. My best friend loves it though so she received a weekly supply of it until the end of November. 😁 I love beets so it must be just a quirk in my palette. 😅

your community is beautiful. Currently live in Maine and while there are others that have the same mentality, we are surprisingly far between. It can definitely feel lonely. Looking this year to get more involved and bring community together. :) Thinking about a community garden and classes/booth at the fair. we shall see. Congratulations on your shift in mentality and your well-developed circle. I just found your channel and you are inspiring

Your knowledge of donkeys and the process of training and owning them is unbelievable. Very enjoyable to watch, your personality and love of the donkeys made this such a great video. I am no way, shape or form near any situation where I will be getting a donkey, I live in NYC lol, but still watched this video from start to finish.

I just found your channel and I'm trying to learn from this video. Question: Would step one actually be to amend the soil with compost, then rake the pathways into the garden bed? I'm confused about step 5 amending the soil, along with the note you added to "do this before raking last year's pathways into beds. Please explain. I would like to continue learning from your channel. Thank you.

There's a lot of reviews on the chaffhaye saying it was moldy and the goats wouldn't touch it.
@AnneofAllTrades
@AnneofAllTrades 2 күн бұрын
A lot of folks aren’t able to discern the difference between mycelium and mold. Chaffhaye *should* have mycelium in it, it is evidence it was fermented properly. It’s *possible* for Chaffhaye to get moldy, if the bags are over a year old, if the plastic is punctured, or, just like any other feed or hay, if it’s stored improperly after opening. One of the first lines of defense for goats is to sample new foods a little at a time, and to see how they feel/their body reacts, and if they don’t get sick, they will gradually eat more and more of anything that nourishes their bodies and fills their tummies. You should never just swap out the feed of a ruminant cold turkey, that will wreak havoc on their guts. It took about 2 weeks to transfer my goats over from an all hay diet to an all Chaffhaye diet, and from a cost, nutrition, and waste standpoint, I’ve never looked back. I made the switch 8 years ago and will never go back to regular hay unless Chaffhaye somehow becomes totally inaccessible.

Oh my goodness! I wish I had your strength, fortitude and optimism!! I wanted to cry looking at all the bad work done!!! I have had many setbacks, and it is hard to keep a good attitude, and you do it so well. You make it look easy! I have no idea why I hadn't found your channel before now! I have been bingeing your channel for 3 days now. I love your energy! I too had a very cheap, genius dad who taught me how to be frugal and use what I have. 😂. Your channel has helped bring me out of a deep funk and has gotten me back outside, dreaming about gardening and farming again, and for that I thank you SO MUCH!! Much love and respect from your Arkansas neighbor! ❤️

My family’s summer place in the countryside, will get visited by the neighbor’s goats a few times in a MONTH! They don’t do anything, they just lay on the lawn and rest or walk around. So,etimes they escape and bring their babies, whom are adorable. My parents don’t mind because it’s like having goats without the headache😂❤

I welcome zucchini. For the most part I'll shred it and freeze it for making zucchini bread during the winter. I used to eat it and give the scaps to my guinea pigs. No waste here.

I'm a city dweller. I've mostly lived in houses and then an apartment for eight years. During that time I had four guinea pigs. I got the would chips at the wood mills for free. Never had a problem with it. I could pile it pretty deep and just cover it with more. When I did clean out (about every three weeks) I would bring it all over to my mother's house and spread it in her front flower bed. At the same time I'd weed it for her and feed it to the guinea pigs. Full circle. After she died, my one brother and I inherited the house. We tore out the wooden ties and invested in nice looking retainer wall bricks. I just threw the rotting ties in at the bottom along with charged biochar. I made it by tossing small pieces of charcoal in a big barrel. It took a while to get the liquid to charge it. I have a computer that is a big plastic barrel on an a frame. It has a couple of sliding doors and vent holes. To stir the compost you just roll the barrel. Anyway, I just kept filling the barrel with scraps and weeds. It doesn't take long for decomposition. I kept two ten gal buckets under the barrel vent holes and left the doors open during rain storms. When there was a good amount of stinky water ,I'd throw it in the barrel of charcoal. I'd even throw some of the rotting compost in for good measure. It takes a while to cover the charcoal with stinky water. I left it for four weeks emptied the barrel onto my cedar trees and stared filling it again to be left for another four weeks. We mixed it in with the soil to go into the front flower bed long with straw, compost and wood chips. My pigs died of old age. The last one a month before I had to move back to the house. I've left the flower bed to lie fallow for the winter. It gives me time to plan what I'd like to put in there. I was thinking of two types of blueberry plants and an azailia for the center piece. I also want to plant some compatible herbs. But I will have to choose carefully. I'm thinking of creeping or lemon thyme. It would give ground cover and minor bug repellent. I have three ungrounded worm composers that can be hidden with a few well placed mini boulders my father stole from up north. He was obsessed with big rocks on the sides of the hiways. I have to plant my edibles in front because there's more sun out there. And the husky is in the backyard. She likes to eat fruits. So we will get nothing. Besides blueberry plants can look ornamental and be productive. Any thoughts on how i can improve?

This video of pruning that peach tree was the most informative fruit tree pruning video I have seen yet. I have been growing peach, apple and paw paw trees for 10 years and never felt confident about pruning my peaches. My oldest 6 year old peach tree is bigger than your 4 yr old and I realized I trained its structure all wrong. I did a pretty severe pruning job the other day after watching this and it finally has the right goblet shape. Hopefully I didn’t take too much off, we’ll see what happens in the spring. Fortunately I have 4 others that are doing great if all else fails. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos and you’re really cute, too.
