I might be odd man out but once you've bought a palette you've supported the creator/friend and I don't think it's necessary to keep it if you aren't going to use it. I mean I doubt they are stalking your page to see if you still have it lol!

In a lot of cases if creators know each other well enough, they gift their collaborations in PR, so then I think it becomes more of a sentimental thing, since you didn't pay for it financially. Where the support part comes in, is if you make a video promoting a friends palette, so I guess you could argue that once that's done then you don't necessarily need to keep it, but I can see why friends would want to.

I enjoy watching your declutters. They're very realistic. It gets old listening to KZbinrs whine on and on, who seem to be attached to every piece of makeup they own. I have a few pieces I'd like to keep for memories but not a ton. Like did you save every single toy from your childhood.... no lol.

I used to follow someone who would go on and on about how they were attached to certain palettes and would cry. They would tell the same sentimental stories about the same palettes each year, so I started fast forwarding when they would say the same spiel again in their new yearly declutter videos. 😂😂😂 They don’t have a makeup channel anymore so they don’t do anymore makeup declutters.

something to consider though, is that Annette is very honest about receiving a lot of her palettes in PR, and I do think that changes the relationship one has with the items. As someone, who has spent my own money on everything in my collection, I know I am definitely much more attached to my palettes, not to mention some people are much more sentimental then others. I think if I received things for free, and knew that going forward, I would continue to receive free items for future videos, it would be much easier to let things go, to make space for what's upcoming. To those who do this as a job, a lot of the makeup they own, are business props. Once they serve their purpose, some just have to go.

Omg, yes for the mirror thought! I don’t want a mirror in any palette over a 9 pan, creates way too much of a likelihood to drop the bugger. The bigger they get the more awkward to hold with one hand so I just don’t use them, rather break a handheld if I drop it and with a handle is far less likely! Adept has some moist/flaky palettes and some are a drier/smoother one. Flying Fiddles is far drier than the Star Trek one for example. That one doesn’t crease on me if I use glitter glue, the other there are 2 shades that will crease no matter what but I just pat them out concealer style and they look great again.

I have seen so many people re press eyeshadows and all they so is crush it up as small as possible stick it back in the pan and press it, because it was made with all the binders etc it doesn't need alcohol or anything and they look good as new. Might be worth a try :0) x

Maybe you could make a video like "3 palettes I have not had the chance to review yet" and do 1-3 looks per palette (depending on the size of the palette) where you choose colors so you get to try most of the shades😍 I would love to see that. Also if you find yourself always wanting to use the same palettes, you can download a random generator app (the app instead of online, because you can save it) make a list with all your palettes / all of the palettes you aren't using that much. Or if you are that type of person that want to play with a specific color, you could make a list of all palettes with more than x amount of purple in (or any other color / theme.) so when you have made that, if you want to make a purple look, you can go to that list, than it will pick out a random palette (or multiple if you like to play with more than 1) 🥰 Hope this is easy to understand, I am not that good at explaining😆 BTW: I love your collection / declutters, because you have so many unique palettes and when you declutter it more realistic (like what do you actually use, but also you can say "I haven't used this in x amount of time, but I want to keep it" and that's that, so you don't declutter, just to do it, which I really like)

I collect Adept cosmetics eyeshadow palettes and I can honestly say that the Heather Austin is my leaat favorite palette bc of the formula with how thick the shimmers are. The rest of their palettes are not that like that one though they're more smooth and metallic or some are more satin like. Their newest Cyborg Choir is really awesome. Also I need to try Ensley Reign already! I've heard a lot of good things about the brand and I need to just cave in already. Now to sit back and watch the rest ❤

See I would have to disagree! I think the Plain Jane is the only Adept with smooth shimmers. The rest of my pallets are super chunky. I tried purchasing the new Cyborg pallet and had issues with shipping and had a terrible experience with customer service. So I think Im done collecting Adept, but I always loved the color stories, and i personally like chunky shimmers.. but Im not sure Ill be purchasing again.

I've been ordering from them for years and haven't ever needed customer service except when I asked to buy a limited edition sold out palette by email and they let me buy it but my experience won't be the same as everyone elses. I despise chunky shimmers and none of my Adept palettes have that type of formula except for Heather Austin's and I think Minka might be as well but thats the only one I havent bought yet. That's weird that we have different experiences or see eyeshadows differently. Now there are some that aren't completely metallic but they're not necessarily chunky. I think of Terra Moon The Cosmos for example as a chunky shadow that I cant stand the texture even though its beautiful. But we all have our own preferences

I need to do a declutter but I feel bad wasting the makeup. I got addicted to makeup right before covid hit, and it got worse during because there was nothing else to do lol. I’m much more selective now with what I bring in. I have around 500 single shadows, and around 80 palettes or so. I’ve watched my spending the last 2 years. The sugar and grunge palette may be coming back as a different name, she mentioned that at one point!

If you like a palette and don’t want to get rid of it perhaps a bin of your favorite palettes not for KZbin might be something to consider. I know a few people that have “retired” makeup corners for nostalgic palettes they still enjoy, could be worth holding onto some items and then talking about them once the corner/bin is full. Makeup is discontinued often so getting rid of something because it’s not available anymore is wasteful, especially if you enjoy using it.

Adepts shimmers are chunky and they can end up in the eyes . They are hard to remove with makeup . I won't buy anymore of theirs . I have the flying fiddles and that's it
