I Think It's Interesting That We're Bringing The Blacks Of '72 Into The Conversation. That Was A Different World. I Lived In The Last House On The Left On A Dead End Street. Maybe I See Things Differently But I Saw The Duke Boys Gang Up On Robbie. Bad. In A Field After A Highschool Football Game. 1981. I Was Sick From Seeing What I Had Just Saw. I Walked Across The Field To Get To The Pizza Place Where Everyone Met Up After The Game. Before I Walked In I Saw A Cop And Asked For A Ride Home Because I Was Still Amazed At The Merciless Beating By The Dukes On Robbie. I Remember Asking A North St. Cop To Take Me Home. I Was 15. The Cop Took Down What I Had Told Him And I Guess Filed A Report. I Knew The Dukes. It Was The Only House In The Neighborhood That Had A Duensenberg In The Driveway From Time To Time. Anyway, I Was Friends With Marcel Duke. I Told Him I Saw The Whole Thing And Told A Cop. I Was Summoned To The Duke Household The Next Day. Mr. Duke Was Firm. I Didn't See A Thing. Yes Sir. Robbie Got Better After A Couple Weeks And Came Back To School. On His First Day Back Lauren Duke Sucker Punched Him In The Math Wing Of North St. Paul High School. All His Teeth On His Left Jaw Were Gone. Nobody Knows What Happened To Robbie After That.
