This scared me so much when I was 13/14 that I freaked and went into a month long period of horrible fear, but listening to it and watching the video now at age 39 I think this is just telling a very upsetting story about a child whose fears are neglected by her parents. Parents can never know exactly what is going on in a child's mind and also nobody can "read" another person's feelings. I think Annihilator wrote this with a good heart and this is for education purposes and to create a very dark atmosphere. It's really a great song and I wish Annihilator had done better for themselves here then they did. They were raved about in all my metal mags and the interviews I always read and thought they sounded like really cool guys, but being Canadian the industry in America gave them the cold shoulder. Our own great bands got the cold shoulder. Look at what happened thanks to poor marketing and promotion. It goes on now and there is absolutely no point in thinking anything is going to change. We have the corporate interests to blame not just for bands, but for far graver matters as well.

I'm just SO tired of movies and other media portraying metalheads as unstable, violent, and unable to function in a normal society. There are so many things to comment on about this song. There's the fact that the vocalist just appears at a certain point in this video, the fact that the second guitarist is ignored in the video, the fact that it has so many intros and sections to the song, but what I think is very interesting is how the vocalist managed to keep this song catchy as fuck with the vocals, yet there were multiple instances where he didn't rhyme the lyrics. As a vocalist/lyricist myself, I usually use rhymes in my lyrics, even when I'm writing this kind of music. It's crazy how he just made that happen. Much respect to him, may he rest in peace.

Seen these guy's open up for Testament in Cleveland at my first ever concert. I believe it was 1989 or so. Needless to say, it was pretty heavy by 1989 standards and still holds up today. I was so impressed, I went and bought the Alice In Hell cassette the next day and headbanged to it til it wore out, then I went and got the cd, still a classic that is in my rotation today🤘
