Can't believe how many classic tracks they wrote. Great shout covering the cure... Now let me dig those old albums out!

Impossible really to single out any of these! I really liked that Friday I'm in Love is originally recorded a bit detuned (I think their tape machine was running on wrong speed)

Key to Cure tone: turn on a Boss chorus. Never turn it off.

Robert actually uses a Flanger pedal which sounds very much like a chorus at certain settings.

wouldn't mind a jazz chorus meself

Nicely played Annika. The Roland Jazz Chorus has 2 speakers: 1 dry sound, 1 vibrato sound. The 2 mics were in front of the vibrato speaker, so you hear no chorus but just the vibrato. That's why some say it sounds out of tune.

I'm not sure I would have picked any of those for my top 5 from The Cure. I mean, sure, they are all very popular songs for The Cure, but there are better ones.
@00Resev2 ай бұрын
I'm not the biggest fan of The Cure. Sure i like the most popular songs, but that's about it.....with one exceptional exception... The song "Burn" always stirs me up inside, with its primal, but contained anger, and when i first heard a snippet of it, while watching the movie "The Crow", i was in shock when i realized who was performing it, as it seemed a very uncharacteristic song for the band. Well It turns out i should have learned more about them... I can understand why Annika hasn't picked this song. Its not really a song where the guitars take central stage. The flute intro sets the mood, the bass and the drums carry the song trough, while the keyboards lay an underlying melody that binds all instruments. The guitars are there, but never overpowered the song, and the layered guitar solo is wonderfully simple, and fits the song so well. Robert's vocals are haunting, peering into your deepest secrets. What a great song. Most songs are not worthy of much, if any, profound analysis, but this is one of the select few that really does it for me.

Talk about natural beauty, not a smudge of make up to be found on that sweet face of hers. She plays so relaxed and her long slender fingers would own anything she would learn to play. I bet she would be great on keyboards too.
