White Room’s bassline was written by Jack Bruce for the album Wheels of Fire by Cream that came out in 1968. Important for people to know that the 24 Nights version was a later live version. And then for Layla, Carl Radle played the original bass part on the Derek & The Dominos 1970 album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.

Thanks Julia, congrats & very best wishes & fun for the tour ! Back in '96 I was fortunate enough to meet & speak briefly with E.C. backstage at R.A.H. London (from doing some gigs with one of the E.C band members). Mr. Clapton was a perfect gentleman.

Her smile when she's happy is contagious! I find myself grinning stupidly at the screen. But for good reason! 😊 I met Julia's doppelganger [Shannon] when I was in 6th grade; I had a crush on her throughout school into college but never could tell her how I felt. Last picture I saw of her, she's still SUCH a beautiful woman! So given that, you'll still be a head turner when you hit 50! 😊 A smile like yours still can melt this ol' guy into his socks! ❤ Best of luck on your tour!

Thank you for this video, Julia! Great to know you love EC's music and that you're on tour with great guys! All the best! Live versions of Tearing Us Apart always have great bass lines. And Nathan East's bass line on Ain't Gonna Stand For It (Reptile album, S.Wonder's cover) is just great and contains the only bass slap solo on Clapton's recordings I think. And from Cream era - yes, Strange Brew and Dance the Night Away. Hello from Moscow, we used to play gigs with great late Pete Brown here back in 2007!😊

No events at this time - shows your website link to the tour. Can we see you in Berlin (Germany) ? Btw, when JustMusic is closing I saw a 5-string California bass, but didn't bought - still a 4-string-guy - but this thing is damned light. And one more thing: At the moment I see many vintage MusicMan Guitars & Bass Guitars (5x) at a retailer in Berlin - do you thing 2,500 € is a fair price for a 1980's instrument ?

To tell y'all the truth I did like some of Clapton's pre 90s music but I wasn't a fan. I didn't think much of his song writing talent, the amount of cover songs he did or the limits of his soloing. However, I think Tears In Heaven to be his first major composition of any significance. I am a slavish fan of Jimi Hendrix. To my mind, Tears In Heaven is simlar in style to Jimi's Castles Made Of Sand. But the latter is but one of Jimi's vast original repertoire. Eric dug deep down into his soul for Tears In Heaven. Gawd, if I lived in Europe I would physically follow your bass mind wherever you jam.
