Brilliant watch and very honest I am the bolton fan mentioned who met Annis in Brussels 2000 always found him to be a top friend and very family oriented. The thing I love is the most about him and his books are that when cardiff got “done” it was told the way it was unlike other books you read where they claim that they never got “done “ . Annis definitely has blue blood and never met anyone on my England travels or bolton travels who loves a club as much as Annis loves the bluebirds!

After watching this, I have a lot of time for this guy. Seems to talk nothing but honesty. I’m a Swansea fan from Port Talbot but my dad and uncles are all Cardiff. My dad was one of the teenagers (16 at the time) at the swim away incident and has told me that story many of times. Said Annis took him under his wing up in Blackpool and he was a top guy.

Fair play to the bloke ,seems like the real deal and not a cocky git either. He knows what he’s talking about as I had a few dust ups in the lower leagues ,those clubs had small but game crews. The fashion was great and it was aright crack, however I keep hearing different versions of the “swim away “ incident. But he is right about Newport they have a good firm on their day.Regards from a Ipswich fan ,we aren’t rated but even us in the mid to late eighties had a go when called upon just ask the 657 when they came to PortmanRoad 86 87 season ,even I was shocked how we stood our ground.

I must admit I don't know of this guy, but he seems to have a lot of respect for being the real deal and not a bullshitter. I'm a mancunian Man City fan of 55yrs old and I must admit that during the year's Man City were in the old 2nd and 3rd division (championship and league 1) we'd meet Cardiff quite a few seasons. Going Ninian Park was definitely a test of your bravery, they had a handy mob. Also they'd come to Manchester in numbers. Respect

Good Interview and thanks for the comments about Newport but can't agree with the comment about most of Newport following Cardiff. A lot of Newport lads born from 1988-1995 support Cardiff City. The lost generation… thanks to Jerry Sherman destroying the old Newport County. I know a lot of Newport lads who follow Cardiff City, and I prefer them over the usual Newport Scousers and Newport Manc’s. Cwmbran and Bassaleg have huge Cardiff City following. Cardiff City has Cardiff, Barry, Caerphilly and Valleys too, Swansea has Swansea, west Wales, Neath. But what I love about Newport is they are a proper city team. 90% of the Newport fan base is from the city of Newport. Siege mentality.

New subscriber, great interview mate. As a Bristol City fan, I’ve seen the Soul Crew up close and have major respect for that mob. Ninnion Park was an absolute beast of an atmosphere. It’s demise, and the Soul Crews’, mirrors the sterile forum that football has become. Ashton Gate and CSF included. In the Soul Crew documentary, at the game in Bristol, Annis is heard saying, “you were gunner get done there”. I’ve always wandered if he was referring to us (Bristol) or the OB. As for Cardiff, yes Ninian Park was always a special day out, nice and intimidating inside and outside the ground, it was the sort of place that we all thrived on going to in the day.
